Introduction to the job

As a Third-Party Software Compliance Officer and Product Owner, you will help protect ASML’s innovation by ensuring software compliance across multiple domains. Your work will safeguard intellectual property and support secure, compliant development processes. You will also lead a team of compliance professionals, shaping strategy and driving improvements that enable ASML to deliver cutting-edge technology to the world’s leading chipmakers.

We are offering a unique double role! As Third-Party Software Compliance Officer, you will assess open-source and commercial components in our product software and help to resolve incompliance issues related to multiple compliance domains (license, security, export, financial). In addition, you will be Product Owner for a team of compliance professionals.

Role and responsibilities

In this role, you combine compliance expertise with leadership responsibilities. You will assess risks, guide solutions, and manage a team vision that aligns with ASML’s goals.

  • Assess and report risks related to third-party software usage.
  • Follow up on compliance issues with developers and subject matter experts.
  • Advise and train teams on solutions to close compliance gaps.
  • Define and maintain a team vision and roadmap.
  • Prepare quarterly planning events and manage backlog priorities.
  • Align stakeholders on demand and cross-team deliverables.

Education and experience

You bring strong technical knowledge and leadership experience to this role:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of combined experience in software compliance and product ownership.
  • Expertise in:
    • Open-source software license compliance
    • Software export compliance
    • Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) methodology and/or commercial software financial compliance
  • Experience in cybersecurity is a plus.

Skills

Working at the cutting edge of tech, you’ll always have new challenges and new problems to solve – and working together is the only way to do that. You won’t work in a silo. Instead, you’ll be part of a creative, dynamic work environment where you’ll collaborate with supportive colleagues. There is always space for creative and unique points of view. You’ll have the flexibility and our trust to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems. To thrive in this job, you'll need the following skills:

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Apply regulatory knowledge to complex compliance issues.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Assess risks and propose practical solutions.
  • Lead and motivate a team toward shared objectives.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.).
