Around the world, hundreds of millions of children are living with the effects of war and conflict. Separated from their homes, schools and loved ones, many are overwhelmed by manifestations of distress. Our mission is to shape the systems that protect and support the wellbeing of children affected by conflict.
We provide mental health and psychosocial support that builds children's resilience and helps restore their sense of safety and trust in themselves, in others, and in their communities. Our evidence-based methods are grounded in scientific research and carefully designed to meet children where they are, reflecting their unique experiences and perspectives.
The result is a range of proven programs that help children recover from the effects of war and look to the future with confidence, hope, and belief in their own potential.
War Child Netherlands (WCNL) is one of the fundraising members of the War Child Alliance. In addition to its fundraising activities, it also offers MHPSS interventions for children and caregivers with a refugee background.
We are seeking an MHPSS Quality and MEAL coordinator who will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality, evidence-based programming by supporting the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning of War Child's interventions in the Netherlands. The coordinator ensures that programs are data-driven, meet standards of quality, and are responsive to the needs of children and their communities.

Kinderen sterker dan oorlog? Absoluut.

War Child is a dynamic, mission-driven organization where creativity, ownership, and impact come first. We work with one clear goal: to support children affected by war as effectively as possible. That’s why we keep our organization innovative, ethical, results-driven, and cost-conscious—so that as much funding as possible goes directly to helping children. We offer employment conditions in line with the Dutch NGO sector and work in a hybrid model from our office in Amsterdam (Watergraafsmeer), from home, and on the road when needed.
Child safety is non-negotiable at War Child. We have zero tolerance for abuse and work strictly according to international humanitarian standards. Safeguarding is a core part of our recruitment process. All candidates are required to provide references in line with the Inter-Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme and a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
