At citizenM, the Director of Revenue Management drives profitable revenue strategies and tactics alongside senior revenue managers and the global revenue management team. The role focuses on long-term strategies, team development, and fostering an agile way of working within the team. The aim is to maximize revenue opportunities and drive market share through team collaboration, system automation, and process efficiencies. Responsibilities center on topline performance from a revenue, system, and process-oriented viewpoint. The director translates the overall company strategy into pricing strategies and optimization tactics to maximize optimal profitable revenue from each segment, ensuring alignment with the sales and marketing teams and the company’s long-term plans.

While day-to-day management of cluster revenue managers is handled by senior revenue managers, the director helps govern the markets with a broad perspective, orchestrating commercial strategies and collaborating with peers from other commercial disciplines. In line with citizenM’s disruptive mindset, the focus is on system automation and process efficiency, supporting the company’s growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the company is on track to achieve its budgeted revenues and costs
  • Organize and coordinate revenue team efforts, allocate responsibilities based on hotel needs, and stimulate multi-team communication
  • Monitor, challenge, and take action on the ROI of distribution costs related to topline room revenue
  • Focus on topline optimization, including key revenue drivers such as breakfast sales and meeting room sales
  • Continuously evolve the team and structure to fit the growth of citizenM
  • Collaborate with regional revenue managers to build on the company’s revenue management structure to support expansion
  • Actively participate in account management of main OTA and GDS partners
  • Develop action plans, particularly focusing on long-term revenue strategies that support stability in both high and low economic conditions
  • Liaise and cooperate with commercial leads (sales, groups & meetings, and growth) to assess direction and make the best decisions on development
  • Work with the BI team to prepare useful dashboards for ad-hoc presentation of KPIs
  • Be the business partner for FP&A (Finance) to create clarity in long-term business plan goals on both revenue and cost sides, and create actions from strategies starting from budgets up to multi-year business plans

Qualifications / Skills

  • A solid track record in a leading global role within revenue management
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Experience in operating in an agile environment is a plus
  • Fluent in English
  • Ambitious: strongly wants to succeed
  • Assertive: outgoing and confident
  • Flexible: ready and able to change and adapt to different circumstances
