Senior Product Manager, Cards

Ordering a pizza? Buying a pair of trainers? Watching a movie? Hailing a ride? Chances are Adyen is handling your payment. Adyen’s Global Cards Acquiring team is responsible for the core payments engine of the Adyen platform. We add new markets for card acceptance, optimize card payment performance in existing markets and add new payment features for various use cases. Through our direct connections into the global card networks of Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners, JCB, and China UnionPay, we can provide the highest quality of payment processing while also leading the market in terms of product innovation.

As a Senior Product Manager on this team, you will lead the strategy and roadmap for a key area of our card payment functionality, helping to shape how merchants around the world accept and optimize payments. You’ll be responsible for driving forward scalable, high-impact solutions within our acquiring platform—collaborating with partners and networks to evaluate evolving specifications and translate them into thoughtful product capabilities. In this role, you’ll guide a dedicated team focused on solving complex payment challenges, while aligning closely with cross-functional teams across Adyen to bring innovative, merchant-centric solutions to market.

What you’ll do

  • Define and drive the product strategy for a key area of our card acquiring capabilities, with a focus on building solutions that improve merchant performance and create long-term value
  • Grow our customers by identifying ways to optimize transaction flows and work on getting these improvements implemented, ensuring they benefit our global merchants
  • Partner with engineers to shape product requirements, prioritize initiatives, and lead product development from discovery through launch
  • Act as a key point of contact between merchants and Adyen’s internal teams, ensuring alignment across departments for seamless product delivery. You can execute!
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry players like Visa, Mastercard, and local networks to influence roadmap decisions and bring innovative solutions to market

Who you are

  • You have 5+ years of experience in product management, with a strong track record of delivering high-impact products in global, cross-functional environments
  • You have preferably domain knowledge in payments, fintech or related fields with knowledge of acquiring and/or payment networks (eg., Visa, Mastercard) and hands-on experience building acquiring-related products
  • You think strategically and can connect technical detail to broader business outcomes, balancing short-term priorities with long-term product vision
  • You have strong technical acumen and are skilled at collaborating with engineers. You understand APIs, system architectures, and can deliver technically complex products
  • You’re deeply curious about the needs of merchants and have a passion for building products that create value, improve performance, and scale globally
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, whether you're aligning stakeholders, advocating for user needs, or making tough prioritization calls. You can articulate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences

The Adyen Formula

The way we work is guided by the eight principles of the Adyen Formula.

No one only manages a search bar or a small feature. At Adyen, you’ll see each solution through the entire lifecycle, from conception to implementation to iteration. If you’re ready to think about the entire solution, then Adyen is right for you.

This role is based out of our Amsterdam office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.

We took an unobvious approach to starting a payments company, building a platform from scratch. Today, we're the payments platform of choice for the world's brightest companies. Our unobvious approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity, of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, is essential in helping us maintain our momentum.
