About this role

As a Senior People Technology Developer, you will design, develop, and implement innovative HR technology solutions within JET’s People Technology team. You will be responsible for the entire development life cycle of the projects you work on, including requirement gathering, deployment and maintenance of both integrations, Workday Extend, and other highly technical People Technology solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams, including People Technology Product, other HR teams, IT, and various business stakeholders, to ensure sophisticated and well-thought-out solutions that successfully leverage and improve both the HR technology landscape and the general IT landscape within JET.

These are some of the key components to the position:

  • Contributing significantly to the architectural direction of People Technology
  • Consistently and independently configure production-ready, sophisticated solutions that are easy to understand, test, and maintain.
  • Independently creating unit, acceptance, and wider system integration tests, addressing expected edge cases and errors.
  • Collaborating closely with Product and HR leadership to prioritise work based on the cost of delay.
  • Understanding the cost implications of running systems and factoring in cost considerations when proposing technical solutions. Identifying security gaps during configuration reviews.
  • Acting as a mentor to junior colleagues, guiding technical and procedural details.
  • Providing operational support for systems within the Product Area of People Services.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Advanced knowledge of HR Systems and integrations obtained through relevant work experience.
  • Extensive experience with integrations including Workday Studio, APIs, PECI, JSON, XML, XSLT.
  • Experience working with an Agile methodology.
  • A team player, contributing effectively in meetings and working groups, fostering constructive collaboration and open communication within the team and with relevant stakeholders.
  • Workday Extend or general software development experience and knowledge of programming languages is a plus.
  • Experience with payroll integrations is a plus.
