Role Description

The Senior Product Specialist (WD Reporting) is end-to-end accountable for all product deliverables within their respective product area and provides input into the overall People Tech product roadmap for Workday reporting. The Senior Product Specialist works closely with the Product team, Data Solutions, and Analytics teams to ensure reporting features deliver effective business solutions. They are responsible for the entire lifecycle of their products including inspiration, requirements gathering, solution design and configuration, deployment, sustainment, adoption, and solution retirement. This covers Embedded analytics, Workday docs, Discovery boards, scheduled reports, PRISM, etc. The role involves close collaboration with the People Technology and IT Services teams, particularly around ERP integration, vendor management, configuration, and development.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Discovery and ideation: Scan the latest technology trends in the respective product area and share these with the functional owners.
  • Priority setting: Understand (sub)functional strategy, processes, and ways of working and align with the functional owner on priorities and plans.
  • Business Case: Provide input to functional owners on business cases specifically regarding product deliverables.
  • Delivery: Provide ongoing support for BAU activities to ensure stakeholders receive required reporting.
  • Solution Design: Translate functional/business requirements into technology solutions, maximising out-of-the-box processes and functionalities of preferred technology vendors.
  • Solution Configuration: Provide the IT Services configuration teams with input on configuration and support relevant testing activities.
  • Deployment and Delivery: Collaborate with regional People Systems and Tech teams on deploying technology solutions based on deployment priorities and plans.
  • Sustain: Work with the IT Services team on solution RUN and maintenance. Act as the single point of contact for escalations to functional owners, IT services, and technology providers.
  • Architecture: Collaborate with People Systems solution and overall ERP architects to ensure solutions integrate seamlessly into People Systems, technology landscapes, and overall Booking.com ERP architecture.
  • Release Strategy: Ensure releases are reviewed, prioritized, tested, and support change management and communication activities as necessary.
  • Security and Compliance: Conduct Cloud security and compliance assessments according to IT security practices to ensure data protection and regular audits.
  • Value Management (Adoption and Continuous Improvement): Work with functional owners and regional People Systems teams to maximize value through adoption and continuous improvement activities.
  • Solution Retirement: Assess when a solution lifecycle ends and coordinate replacement with future-fit solutions alongside IT Services teams.
  • Influence and Co-innovation: Collaborate with strategic vendors (e.g., Workday, SAP, Greenhouse) to ensure their roadmaps reflect Booking.com's technology needs. Attend user groups, vendor conferences, and participate in co-innovation activities as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience
  • Very strong functional knowledge of Workday and Workday reporting
  • Solid HR Tech product knowledge and understanding of technology requirements, ways of working, and standards
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven track record of ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
  • Good understanding of basic system engineering, information and risk guidelines, and system architecture standards
  • Solid understanding of HR sub-functional areas including strategy, processes, and best practices
  • Good working knowledge of Workday, PRISM, and other HR Cloud solutions
  • Understanding of modern IT methodologies (agile, waterfall, design thinking, process mapping, project management)
  • Good understanding of IT landscape in the functional area
  • Working knowledge of APIs, architecture, SaaS, PaaS, and DaaS
  • Curious, dedicated, accountable, and business-driven
