Program Manager - Tech

We are seeking a Program Manager - Tech to join our Tech Enablement team who will be responsible for managing company wide initiatives within Tech which spans across Engineering, Product & UX.

As a cross-functional group at Adyen, the Tech Enablement team brings Engineering, Product, and UX together. Our mission is to help teams work better, smarter, and more collaboratively by introducing shared practices that reduce friction and enable scalable, accountable ways of working across our global Tech Hubs.

We operate as strategic enablers, driving coherence and shared accountability across Engineering, Product, and UX. Our initiatives across Tech focus on three key areas: supporting Tech Strategic Themes, establishing Adyen's unique "Rituals" (ways of working), and advancing Business & Product Priorities.

We accelerate how the entire Tech Organization delivers value by boosting speed, efficiency, and quality within our Solution teams and with partner functions. Born from the rapid growth of Adyen's Product portfolio and Engineering teams, we address the complexity of managing multiple products across six Solution Groups. Our goal is to implement foundational support to drive greater efficiency and deliver customer value at scale, aligning with Adyen’s ambitious growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead programs that enhance the overall efficiency, collaboration, and scalability of our Tech organisation - across our global Tech Hubs, by empowering teams to deliver value at scale.
  • Streamline the product development cycle by establishing and iterating on shared practices, governance models (e.g., for architecture reviews), and innovative ways of working.
  • Strategically align Tech efforts with our broader Tech Strategic Themes, Adyen's unique "Rituals," and key Business & Product Priorities.
  • Build and refine the operational backbone that enables seamless collaboration between Engineering, Product, and UX teams, empowering them to deliver customer value at scale.
  • Identify opportunities for seamless collaboration among Tech.
  • Manage ambiguity in our entrepreneurial environment, proactively defining a clear vision for optimizing our tech organization to best support the business.

Who you are:

  • Engineering & Product Acumen: Your expertise lies in applying a strong understanding of product development processes and best practices, cultivated through your background in Engineering, Product Management and/or Program Management.
  • Program leadership: Your leadership is defined by your ability to drive complex initiatives and deliver results. You have a proven talent for coordinating distributed teams and complex functionality, with over 5+ years in technical program management or in a senior technical role (IC/TL) where you are ready to shift your focus to strategy.
  • Strategic & collaborative mindset: You excel at cross-functional stakeholder management, navigating matrixed environments and influencing without direct authority.
  • Technical foundations: You possess strong technical credibility and a deep understanding of system architecture, design patterns, and technical trade-offs. You're comfortable engaging in discussions around complex APIs, data flows, distributed systems, and scalability challenges, allowing you to effectively contribute to and facilitate critical discussions.
  • Strategic problem solver: You leverage insights to zoom out and identify the fundamental problems we're solving, crafting effective strategies that exceed current ways of working and foster truly innovative solutions. You strike a good balance between strategic vision and being a true go-getter; when you see challenges - you show a high level of curiosity to fully understand these, rather than avoiding them.
  • Exceptional communication: You're a strong communicator, positively engaging at all levels. You expertly tailor your verbal, written, and visual artifacts (i.e. presentations etc.) to diverse audiences, from senior leaders to junior team members.
  • Detail-oriented & translative: You delve into technical & operational details and development processes, and can clearly translate complex concepts into actionable information for both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization
  • Adaptability & navigating ambiguity: You thrive in our entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment, adept at managing ambiguity and multiple tasks under pressure.
