Join Our Ambitious Operational Excellence Team at VTTI Headquarters

At VTTI, we develop and operate critical energy infrastructure that helps move the world toward a carbon-neutral future. As part of our global ambition, we are strengthening our Operational Excellence team. To support this, we’re looking for a Global Tank Program Manager to join our headquarters in Rotterdam.

As Global Tank Program Manager, you will lead the development, standardization, and execution of a comprehensive inspection and maintenance program for storage tanks across all VTTI terminals. This role is critical for safeguarding mechanical integrity, improving operational reliability, and ensuring long-term asset performance.

You will:

  • Define global technical standards incorporating Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), API/EEMUA compliance, and data-driven maintenance strategies.
  • Lead the design and rollout of a centrally governed, locally executed tank management framework.
  • Collaborate with terminal engineering teams, software providers, inspection vendors, and the global technical team.
  • Support the use of inspection data to inform long-term CAPEX planning.
  • Apply your knowledge of tank construction, corrosion mechanisms, inspection interpretation, and repair methodology to improve terminal performance.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Strategic Alignment: Align tank integrity initiatives with VTTI’s global operational excellence strategy.
  • Process Standardization: Standardize tank inspection and maintenance processes across regions, while accounting for local regulatory requirements and site-specific conditions.
  • Program Implementation: Roll out consistent safety protocols, inspection schedules, quality standards, and operational best practices globally.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Promote the use of inspection results to support risk assessment, asset lifecycle planning, and investment prioritization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean principles and modern maintenance philosophies to enhance performance and reduce risk.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor KPIs to measure progress, highlight risks, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Training & Development: Coach and support terminal teams to adopt the tank program framework and embed a culture of mechanical integrity and reliability.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with regional managers, technical experts, safety teams, and senior leadership.

What you bring

We are looking for a hands-on, technically strong and globally minded professional. You bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (e.g. mechanical, chemical, civil) or operations management.
  • Proven experience in LPG operations management, preferably in a global context (5 to 10 years)
  • In-depth knowledge of tank construction, inspection techniques, corrosion behavior, and repair strategies.
  • Experience in implementing RBI methodologies and aligning with international standards like API and EEMUA.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.
  • A proactive, structured and self-starting attitude.

What we offer

  • A full-time position at our Rotterdam HQ.
  • A competitive compensation package including performance bonus.
  • Collective pension scheme and collective health insurance
  • 27 vacation days.
  • A fast-paced, international and diverse work environment within the ‘VTTI family culture’.
  • A hybrid way of working (home and office flexibility).

VTTI operates a network of bulk logistics assets around the world. We do so in a manner that is safe, environmentally sound and commercially advantageous for our customers and shareholders. We comply with all local legislation but are also committed to meet the highest international standards of our industry. The Company’s growth will be achieved on three fronts: expanding existing assets, acquiring new ones and developing greenfield opportunities. Although our terminals and locations vary considerably, our standards don’t. We operate to uniform standards of safety, integrity and professionalism wherever we do business. The evolution of VTTI VTTI is owned 50% by the Vitol Group, the international energy trading group, and 50% by MISC Berhad of Malaysia.

The VTTI network has grown rapidly, both by acquisition and expansion, as we seek to give our customers the best possible competitive advantage. Flexibility Ethos At VTTI, we are much more than providers of passive assets such as tanks, pipes and storage. Rather, we play an active role in helping our customers to maximise the value of their cargoes. Our customers identify imbalances in the worldwide supply of fuels, and focus on realising opportunities that will achieve the best price. In turn, this places real demands on their own supply chain, and they look to VTTI to help them create the precise specifications needed, in the right quantities, at the right time and in the right place. This demands capacity, certainly, and complete professionalism along the key trading routes of the world. But it also requires people with commercial skills, initiative and an entrepreneurial psyche that matches our clients’ own.
