About this job

We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Project Lead – Battery Manufacturing to join the team in Eindhoven.

This position focuses on leading the realization of a new pilot production facility dedicated to Next-Generation Battery Technologies, including high-voltage lithium (sodium) metal batteries, solid-state batteries, and metal-air batteries. The facility, based in Helmond, will play a central role in scaling up advanced battery manufacturing capabilities. It is being developed in collaboration with public entities and commercial partners, and is part of a broader program aimed at accelerating the energy transition while enhancing the competitiveness of high-tech companies. The initiative is built upon cutting-edge thin-film and pre-pilot production technologies and involves close cooperation with both local and international battery component producers.

Infrastructure Project Lead – Battery Manufacturing

Main responsibilities

  • Translate the overall project plan into detailed specifications for production infrastructure and equipment
  • Oversee procurement and realization of infrastructure and equipment in line with quality, budget, and timeline objectives
  • Engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including public agencies, suppliers, and commercial partners
  • Coordinate a multidisciplinary team of technically oriented and support professionals in a collaborative and structured manner
  • Develop facility infrastructure and establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) that comply with safety and environmental standards
  • Define and validate process flows, determine operational parameters, and conduct trial runs to verify system functionality
  • Maintain oversight of financial and operational progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies

Requirements

  • Higher professional or academic education (HBO/MSc), preferably in technical physics or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience; certification such as PMP, Prince2, or IPMA is an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder environments involving both public and private interests
  • Experience with the design, construction, and procurement of technical infrastructure, particularly in pilot-scale or industrial production settings
  • Skilled in developing and validating process flows, with a focus on repeatability, quality, and operational reliability
  • Solid understanding of QSHE standards and procedures, including environmental permitting and risk assessments (RIEs)
  • Familiarity with the Dutch innovation ecosystem, particularly within the Helmond or automotive technology region
  • Proactive and goal-oriented, with a collaborative mindset and a critical approach to decision-making
  • Strong communication skills in English
