How do you make our customers happy?
As Strategic Change Manager in bol’s Product & Tech department, you will lead strategic change programs designed first and foremost to make life easier for our P&T colleagues. By removing friction, improving processes and giving teams the headspace to innovate. By empowering them, you’ll expand our technical capabilities, enable faster delivery of inventive solutions and strengthen the long-term resilience of a platform that already serves 13 million customers, 49,000 partner sellers and a catalogue of 37 million items.
The biggest challenge
Ensuring that change truly sticks within bol, with a focus on programs, projects and initiatives that make the lives of our P&T colleagues easier, more enjoyable, and more impactful. While addressing relevant change dimensions: behaviours, systems, processes, storytelling and, above all, the underlying “why.”
What you'll do as Strategic Program Manager
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Programs P&T, you’ll be at the forefront of bol’s strategic initiatives within Product & Tech. You’ll collaborate closely with the Product Portfolio & Operations team and work with various (senior) stakeholders across the Product and Tech departments. You will work with senior leadership, product managers, engineering teams, and other key stakeholders (e.g. People and Communication Teams) to ensure program success. Your ability to prioritize, structure problems, and maintain an oversight and helicopter view will be crucial in guiding these strategic programs to everlasting impact and success.
Main responsibilities
- Define the change strategy for key programs by focusing on what we are aiming to achieve and design & run change plans that turn outcomes into durable habits
- Be the master of strategic change communication, excelling at clearly communicating the ‘why’ behind change to a highly diverse audience to create lasting impact
- Coordinate with Internal Communications and People& (our HR department) to ensure the behaviours are embedded in daily practice and consistently reflected in our bol-wide communications
- Drive change for a wide variety of stakeholders, being able to map and mobilise stakeholders and build organisation-wide buy-in through data-driven storytelling
- Ensure we truly understand what our P&T community needs to change; by leveraging insights from surveys and actively building and supporting a community of change advocates and agents
- Inject fresh thinking by scanning emerging tech and change-management trends and folding the best ideas into bol’s operating model
- Drive program leadership by orchestrating integrated program plans: balance scope, resources, timelines and inter-team dependencies while surfacing and mitigating risk early
- Advise senior leadership with concise, data-backed insights that outline trade-offs and point to the smartest strategic moves to drive sustained change
- Champion continuous improvement by owning the metrics to show progress and course-correct whenever change waver, and developing playbooks and templates so P&T leadership and teams can adopt change approaches and scale adoption autonomously
Key qualifications
- 5+ years in a strategic transformation or change-management role within strategy consulting and with experience in technology-driven environments
- Proven transformation chops: hands-on experience applying change frameworks and knowing when to go bespoke
- Deep understanding of organizational operating models: experienced in designing, evolving, or navigating different models to drive strategic outcomes
- Strategic thinker & zoom-out capability: able to connect team-level initiatives to company-level value creation, articulate trade-offs, and see around corners
- Stakeholder influence without authority: track record of aligning engineering, product, design and data and commercial leaders behind a common agenda
- Clear communicator & storyteller: translates technical and organisational change into compelling business impact narratives for audiences from product teams to C-suite.
- Results-oriented follow-through: relentless in driving adoption until new behaviours become “how we do things around here.”
- Adaptive & innovative mindset: thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous settings; continuously scans change & tech trends for strategic advantage.

- Status-Quo Sentinel – Challenging entrenched habits and driving lasting change doesn’t excite you.
Who will thrive in this role
- Strategy-to-Execution Architect – You link big-picture vision to bite-size, test-and-learn deliveries.
- Transformation Tactician – Complex change excites you, and you drive it until new habits stick

This is where you'll work
You’ll be at the heart of our product & tech initiatives, working on projects that will shape the future of our organization and the e-commerce landscape. You’ll join a team of innovators passionate about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in online retail. We’ve been reinventing retail since 1999, and with your strategically sound project leadership, we’re ready to take it to the next levels.
