Head of Tax at Vanderlande Industries
Introduction
The Head of Tax at Vanderlande Industries (Vanderlande) manages the Group tax department and oversees the global tax function of Vanderlande, a market leading global provider of automated material handling systems and services. This position ensures compliance with international tax laws, while driving strategic tax optimization and risk mitigation initiatives across the direct tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, and tax accounting domains. Acting as key advisor to senior leadership and business stakeholders, this role ensures that Vanderlande navigates efficiently within the global tax landscape to support future business growth. In addition, this role will work closely together with the Head of Tax of Toyota Industries Europe AB (TIE) and drive and contribute to projects on TIE level.
What will you be doing?
- Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliancy with global, federal, and local tax regulations, including indirect taxes (VAT, GST, etc.), direct taxes and international tax (incl. treaties).
- Support the preparation and timely submission of tax filings by the regional Tax & Compliance teams within the Financial Shared Service Centers (FSSC).
- Manage the review processes related to tax returns.
- Oversee proper tax accounting under IFRS.
- Ensure J-Sox and other internal controls in the tax domains are designed and operating effectively.
- Design, document, and implement robust transfer pricing policies to align with international guidelines.
- Work proactively with internal and external stakeholders to manage transfer pricing documentation and audits.
- Tax Strategy & Planning:
- Design and implement global tax strategies to optimize the group’s effective tax rate.
- Develop and implement a sustainable Tax governance structure within the Vanderlande context and ensure alignment with TIE governance structure.
- Provide tax input on M&A, restructurings, and other business initiatives.
- Assess and manage tax risks across jurisdictions.
- Co-develop and implement a Customs control framework with connected governance.
- Monitor evolving tax laws, e-invoicing mandates and other relevant global compliance requirements (e.g., Pillar 2, CbCR, etc.), proactively adapting strategies to maintain timely alignment with changes.
- Leadership:
- Lead the Vanderlande Group Tax team, a team of 5 senior tax professionals, fostering development and promoting a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, and Business teams to integrate tax considerations into broader business strategies.
- Promote continuous learning and improvement within the tax function, including adoption of innovative tax technologies and automation tools.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with tax authorities (Horizontal monitoring scheme), external auditors, and advisors to ensure clear communication and resolution of tax issues.
- Represent Vanderlande during tax audits, inquiries, and negotiations.
What do we ask from you:
- Master Degree in Tax
- Professional certifications in the area of Tax are preferred such as CTP, ATP, CPA.
- 12+ years of progressive tax experience within a multinational organization or a professional services firm.
- Exceptional understanding of global tax laws, OECD guidelines, and cross-border taxation.
- Proven experience in tax planning for mergers, acquisitions, and divestments is preferred.

This position offers a competitive salary ranged from € 7.340,28 – € 9.961,81
(excluding 8% holiday allowance) and STI element. Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
