Currently we are working together with Mechanical development (MDEV) and Software Development (SDEV) to create tools for several project that require close multi-disciplinary expertise and collaboration.

As a new design group, the focus is on some key challenges that have to be tackled. One of these is that for ease of serviceability, maintainability, and designability it would be a benefit to have blocks that can have a certain functionality that can be reused in different tools.

This assignment will be a first step towards attaining this goal.

Your assignment

A pre-investigation phase:

  • Investigation on which multi-disciplinary tools are currently being used
  • Find commonality within the existing tools
  • Define re-useable functional blocks.
  • Together with the project stakeholders and Safety competences investigate which requirements are needed for both:

- General tool requirements

- Requirements regarding standards (IEC, SEMI, CE)

  • Alignment on priority/order of implementation of these blocks

A detailing phase:

  • Define requirement for a functional block
  • Start with a prototype design
  • Test and qualify the design
  • Report on improvement points and further steps

This is an apprentice internship (to gain work experience) for 6 months. The start date is flexible (latest starting date is Sept '25).

Your profile

  • You are a Bachelor or Master student in Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering
  • You have good communication skills, and have good knowledge of English, both verbal and written.
