You’ll play a vital role in connecting National Research & Education Networks (NRENs), research institutions, commercial partners, and the wider science and education community. From conferences and workshops to virtual infoshares, your work will help strengthen knowledge sharing and collaboration across Europe.

You’ll be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of events within GEANT’s EC-funded GNx project and the GEANT Community Programme, supporting both operational delivery and administrative processes.

Key responsibilities include:

GNx Project Events (70%)

  • Plan and deliver events (in-person, hybrid, online) ranging from 10 to 200 participants.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to shape agendas and event outcomes.
  • Handle logistics: venue sourcing, vendor coordination, registration, communications, and onsite support.
  • Provide administrative support: documentation, reporting, mailing list management, and liaising with Finance and Marcomms teams.

Community Programme Events (30%)

  • Coordinate logistics for community-driven events such as Task Forces, Special Interest Groups, and innovation activities.
  • Support GEANT’s flagship annual conference (TNC) and innovation-related events.

Process & Development

  • Lead the development and implementation of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for event delivery across the organisation.
  • Act as GEANT’s go-to person for event coordination, offering guidance and consistency across teams.

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines event expertise with strong coordination skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work across cultures and contexts.

Essential Experience

  • End-to-end event delivery experience across multiple event formats.
  • Experience working on European-level events or in international settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Keen attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in project coordination or administration.
  • Budgeting, procurement, and vendor contracting knowledge.
  • Familiarity with working in the public sector or research/education environments.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse teams.

Personal Attributes

  • Self-motivated and disciplined — a proactive starter-finisher.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable and calm under pressure.
  • Comfortable building trust across diverse groups and cultures.
  • Fast learner, ready to take initiative and problem-solve.
  • Willing and able to travel (approx. 10 times/year).
