Your role and responsibilities

As Product Specialist for Increased Safety Motors, you will be accountable for the profitable growth and marketing of the portfolio globally. You will contribute to business strategy definition, translate business strategy and market requirements into the portfolio roadmap and manage the offering through all of its life cycle phases. As a bridge between market needs and technical development you will ensure that ABB’s offering remains competitive and compliant with international standards.

The work model for the role is: hybrid; #LI-Hybrid. This role is contributing to the IEC LV Motors division globally. Location for the role is global - we accept applications worldwide.

  • Analyzing global market trends, technology, competitor landscape, customer needs and regulatory requirements and translating these into product development and offering priorities.
  • Managing the global product portfolio across its lifecycle, ensuring profitability and growth through proactive lifecycle and performance management.
  • Leading market requirement definition and business case development, of new offering projects based on customer needs and value analysis.
  • Initiating and developing the product market communication strategy, including product launch planning and implementation, ensuring a clear product value proposition and positioning to different customer segments.
  • Driving creation of product training and sales collateral to convey product values and support product positioning and sales arguments. Supporting sales and other stakeholders with product expertise and guidance.
  • Willingness to travel is required (around 15%).

Qualifications for the role

  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechatronics, or Mechanical); a business/technical hybrid profile is advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in product management, marketing, sales or technical roles dealing with industrial electric motors, drives or mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with EX standards and markets is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical insight with strategic and commercial thinking.
  • Ability to develop solid international network within the organization and collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver business results.
  • Robust analytical and strategic thinking skills with a structured approach to portfolio analysis and development.
  • Collaborative, global mindset with proficient communication skills and the ability to work across functions and regions.
