Manager Technology at FrieslandCampina

As the Manager Technology, you will be responsible for the strategic process development and tactical implementation of the product and process improvement roadmap within the SN Supply Chain. Your role will involve translating long-term strategic plans into actionable tactical plans across four key areas: Robust, SMART, Sustainable, and Future/Inventive Factory. In addition, you will lead, coach, and develop a team of 10 FTE.

You will continuously improve the production location through new products, processes, and sustainability initiatives and engage with various disciplines such as operations, engineering, innovation/R&D, technology, and planning. A great opportunity to further develop your career! 🚀

What we ask

  • Master’s degree preferred; BSc with relevant experience is considered.
  • 10-12 years of experience in similar positions.
  • Green Belt; Master Black Belt is a plus.
  • Experience with Liquid Processes, preferably in dairy, emulsions and liquid nutrition.
  • NPD/Investment Projects: Knowledge of scaling and validation.
  • People Management skills: Empower and lead process technology experts.
  • Strategic and Tactical Thinking: Develop and communicate a future vision for process improvements at Beilen.
  • Stakeholder Management: Navigate and maintain course with various disciplines, from MT level to operators.
  • Excellent in English; Dutch is highly preferred.

Vacancy description

  • Strategic and Tactical Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans by leading technology teams to improve day-to-day process robustness, set standards, and execute process development.
  • In addition to leading strategic technology initiatives, the role also includes supporting daily operations. This involves close collaboration with operational technologists who provide immediate, hands-on support for day-to-day production issues. The Technology Manager is expected to maintain a balance between short-term operational support (ranging from daily to weekly needs) and long-term strategic projects (spanning from one month up to two to three years).
  • Process Optimization: Lead conceptual design and process engineering in multidisciplinary teams to create innovative, predictable, and robust production processes.
  • Technology Design: Oversee technology design for strategic Capex projects and embed new product/packaging designs into robust daily processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify, lead, and develop short and mid-term product and process improvements within the CI improvement loop for Robust, SMART, Sustainable, and Future/Inventive Factory.
  • Strategic Partnering: Collaborate with the Manager of Technology and Innovation to create strategic multi-year plans for product and process improvements and innovations within Specialised Nutrition.
  • People Management: Lead, coach, and develop a team of highly skilled technologists, ensuring a positive culture and effective structure to achieve results.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a strategic business partner to senior SN business group stakeholders and manage long-term relationships within and outside the Specialized Nutrition Supply Chain.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ensure day-to-day and long-term technological improvements for operations, including complex problem-solving and continuous process improvement.
  • Project Management: Manage new product and project implementations efficiently and robustly, ensuring feasibility and technological design for CAPEX projects.
  • Investment Management: Translate strategic technological plans into tactical project and financial year plans, conducting feasibility studies and delivering business cases for process-related investments.
  • Configuration Management: Design and execute projects related to relevant systems and applications, ensuring functional responsibility for ICT systems.
  • Management Information: Monitor and adjust technological processes necessary for day-to-day operations, converting operational information into strategic input.
