For Yamaha Motor Europe N.V., located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Compliance Officer.

About the role
You are part of the Compliance Department which is responsible for Risk Management and Compliance at Yamaha Motor Europe N.V. (YME), based in Schiphol-Rijk, the Netherlands. Working with your manager, you will support and ensure overall management of Risk and Compliance activities, which are initiated by Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (YMC) in Japan and/or triggered by European legislation. The Compliance Department is responsible for establishing Risk and Compliance programs at YME and its branches/subsidiaries and to actively set up, manage and monitor these subjects, ensuring proper control. The position focuses on hands-one (operational tasks) and includes some consultative (developmental) tasks as well.

Your responsibilities:

  • Together with your manager, you will oversee and coordinate YME’s Risk and Compliance processes;
  • Be a proactive member of the compliance team who contributes to Yamaha’s compliance culture;
  • You can set up processes and work with a variety of stakeholders such as Divisions/Branches/Subsidiaries/global Head office to ensure adequate implementation.

Establish and maintain effective internal controls to detect and prevent compliance violations;

  • Prepare reports for senior management, highlighting key risks, compliance issues, and any corrective actions taken and ensure regular updates on compliance performance and risk status;
  • Conduct training sessions for employees and management on risk and compliance topics, including how to spot potential compliance violations or risks.

You take responsibility for coordinating the closure of audit findings related to compliance and will take initiative in creating monitoring for the implementation of compliance measures within the scope of a 2nd line defence function;

  • You will support/take ownership of new compliance topics;
  • Various supporting tasks within the scope of Compliance.

What do you bring?

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant experience as a Compliance Officer or similar role;
  • Risk management skills/experience are a plus;
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field;
  • Can-do and business enabler mindset paired with strong stakeholder management;
  • Willingness to pick-up, learn and work on new compliance topics as they present themselves;
  • Strong English business language skills, other European languages are a benefit.
