As our API Developer you will be developing additional functionality which allows different systems to communicate with each other. With your expertise, you will be facilitating the exchange of data and functionality between different systems. What are you going to do?

You’ll be involved in, among other things, unlocking data with both low-code and high-code. Some of your common tasks will include:

• API Design: Design robust and efficient APIs that facilitate smooth communication between diverse software systems.
• Endpoint Development: Implement API endpoints to enable data exchange and service consumption across various applications.
• Data Serialization: Work on data serialization techniques to ensure efficient and secure transmission of information between different software components.
• Versioning and Documentation: Manage API versioning and create documentation to guide developers in integrating and utilizing APIs effectively.
• Security Implementation: Implement security measures to protect APIs from unauthorized access and ensure data integrity.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize API response times through caching mechanisms (e.g., Redis, HTTP caching).
• Testing and Validation: Write and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for APIs using tools like JUnit, Postman.
• Error Handling: Design meaningful and user-friendly error messages.
• Event-Driven APIs: Develop APIs to support webhooks or event-driven architectures using message queues like RabbitMQ or Kafka.

Job requirements

• Must have at least a bachelor’s degree;
• Resides in the Netherlands;
• Fluent in English;
• Curious and solution-oriented mindset.

Minimum of 2 years of work experience with

• Java;
• Design and implementation of RESTful APIs;
• Implementing secure authentication and authorization mechanisms in API development;
• Testing methodologies for APIs to ensure reliability and performance.

Depending on your position, you work on location for about 2 days and the rest from home

Guideline is 10% of the operating result
