About us

NoPalm Ingredients is a biotech start-up producing fermentation-based yeast oils & fats, made from agri-food waste streams that are perfect substitutes to palm and other vegetable oils in food, cosmetics, and home care products. Our products offer a two-sided solution that reduces both the use of palm oil and food waste.

Founded in 2021, NoPalm Ingredients is on a mission to challenge companies and product manufacturers to implement our local, circular, and sustainable oils as an alternative to palm oil.

By upcycling agri-food side streams into circular yeast oils, we are making a worldwide environmental impact, contributing to a waste-free world, decarbonizing the entire value chain with 90% less greenhouse gas emissions, and limiting the impact on natural habitats as we reduce land-use by 99%.

About the role

As Head of Finance, you’ll be a key partner to the CEO and part of the extended Management Team—collaborating with all functional leads to shape the future of NoPalm Ingredients. You’ll drive financial strategy and operational excellence as we scale the business and bring our DEMO factory to life.

This isn’t just a finance role—it’s a strategic leadership position at the heart of a purpose-driven company. You’ll have the opportunity to help build something impactful from the ground up, at the intersection of innovation and sustainability.

Strategic Financial Leadership

• Partner with the CEO and the extended Management Team to guide company strategy with financial insight
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Develop and manage KPIs, collaborating with teams across the company.

Operational Finance & Controls

• Oversee and run core finance functions: accounting, tax, payroll, and cash flow.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Fundraising & Investor Relations

• Lead debt and non-dilutive financing, support the CEO and MT on equity financing,
• Support investor relations, including management of the STAK and related governance.

About you

You’re a proactive, detail-driven finance leader who thrives in fast-moving, collaborative environments. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, and your passion for sustainability aligns with our mission.

Experience & Qualifications

• Senior-level finance experience in a start-up or scale-up environment.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting. CFA is a plus, not a must.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, analysis, and modeling.
• Strong grasp of legal and regulatory considerations in business operations.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written); Dutch is a bonus.
