Job description

Are you passionate about turning scientific research into real-world technological advancements? Are you skilled in orchestrating complex projects and aligning diverse stakeholders toward a shared vision? We are looking for a hands-on Programme Manager with experience in deep tech innovation to help drive the development of quantum internet technologies!

In this unique role, you will be working at QuTech, dedicating all your efforts to QIA, the Quantum Internet Alliance, a collaboration involving more than 40 industrial and academic organizations across Europe.

QIA’s mission is to build a global Quantum Internet by developing a full-stack prototype quantum internet network that validates all key subsystems. As a pioneering community dedicated to advancing a groundbreaking technology, QIA’s ambition extends beyond scientific leadership. The aim is to build an innovative European Quantum Internet ecosystem, capable of scaling all sub-systems to achieve world-leading European technology. In this regard, QIA has launched the world’s first global quantum internet technology forum (QIATF) and is expanding its ecosystem further.

As the Program Manager your main responsibilities will be:

  • Collaborating closely with the director of QIA (Professor Stephanie Wehner) to execute and align with QIA’s overall strategy and vision.
  • Coordinating and maintaining strong relationships with QIA partners, understanding their project interests.
  • Monitoring and ensuring timely delivery of QIA activities and deliverables.
  • Leading and coordinating proposal plannings and development for upcoming initiatives.
  • Managing a team and ensuring high-quality execution and day-to-day management of all QIA operations.
  • Overseeing and managing the financial budget of QIA.
  • Supporting regular communication and ongoing engagement with stakeholders, including follow-ups, updates, and relationship management.
  • Staying informed about large-scale projects and connect with key players.
  • Exploring new partnerships and opportunities.

Requirements

You are a driven and ambitious Programme Manager, ready to lead operations within a dynamic and high-impact environment. With 3 to 5 years of experience in programme management, preferably in a technical field, you will bring:

  • Excellent communication skills in English written and spoken.
  • A talent for connecting diverse perspectives and thinking outside the box.
  • Experience working with local governments and regional stakeholders, and building bridges between public and private organisations (a plus).
  • Strong operational and project management skills and experience with EU project management.
  • Proactive communicator who flags issues early and translates strategic goals into actionable tasks.
  • Decisive and natural connector of opposites, finding common grounds and out of the box thinker.
  • Experienced in working with local governments and regional stakeholders and finding connections between different organisations (public and private) would be a bonus.

We recognize that no one meets 100% of the qualifications. If this role excites you and you believe you could thrive in it, we encourage you to apply.
