Manager Reception & Reservations (Fulltime shared role)

Volkshotel is looking for a second Manager Reception & Reservations. In this shared role, you and your colleague will be responsible for ensuring our hotel guests have an enjoyable stay from arrival to departure. Additionally, you will ensure that your team (13 FTE) is motivated and well-trained on the floor. You will work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager, Housekeeping, and the Technical Service team. You will report directly to the General Manager.

What will you do:

• Ensure a pleasant welcome, accurately and efficiently check-in and check-out guests;
• Coordinate and plan tasks, and manage the team;
• Recruitment and selection, team presentation, and management of departmental personnel costs;
• Coach, train, motivate, and evaluate the team;
• Monitor the quality of rooms, coworking space, and event spaces;
• Accurately and efficiently process hotel and restaurant reservations;
• Ensure clear communication with guests (email, phone, mail);
• Maintain accurate administration, cash flows, and payments;
• Oversee and improve all procedures and processes related to reception, reservations, and organization;
• Make efficient use of software and hardware;
• Optimize collaboration with other departments;
• Ensure guest safety by keeping the emergency response plan (BHV) up to date, planning the training for staff in emergency response and teamleader training, and ensuring the availability of emergency equipment.

Knowledge and experience:

• You have a higher professional education (HBO) level and at least 2 years of leadership experience in a hotel with 100+ rooms;
• You are accurate, organized, and work efficiently;
• Knowledge of MEWS is a plus;
• You have knowledge of software and hardware, network systems, reservation and payment systems, debtor management, and cash flows;
• You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken;
• You are service- and guest-oriented and focus on solutions;
• You have an affinity for free-spirited, young, and creative minds.
