Senior Compliance Manager

Job description

The role of Senior Compliance Manager is accountable for the management, safety, integrity, and legal compliance for Karsten's own label and in-house brands. You will provide strategic direction, leadership, and governance to ensure that compliance is at the forefront of our operations, influencing commercial decisions related to product and suppliers.

You will be a leader within a team of Quality Managers and Technologists based in our Amsterdam Head office and China offices to deliver technical excellence for all our customers.

Responsibilities

People

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and drive cross-functional working to ensure delivery of compliance-related targets.
  • Create an environment which drives productivity, continuous improvement, and encourages feedback.
  • Lead, motivate, and inspire the internal teams to deliver compliance, safety, and legal requirements including packaging and ESG targets.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to the team.

Process

  • Define and implement procedures, policy, standards, and audit requirements.
  • Review systems, processes, and activities, identify and lead implementation of improvements.
  • Lead enquiries and audits with authorities and external bodies.
  • Lead product escalations ensuring customer safety and reputation is upheld.
  • Ensure there is effective cascade of compliance requirements to suppliers.
  • Monitor changes in legislation, sustainability practices, and consumer trends to identify opportunity and risk.
  • Upskill and engage the commercial teams on compliance and ESG standards.
  • OTIF- deliver On Time In Full strategy to pipeline management.
  • Workflow Management – support and further introduce systemic workflows and system integration into the compliance-led process.
  • Support and lead the Supplier Evaluation and onboarding strategy together with cross-functional teams in Amsterdam and China.
  • Identify and resolve process inefficiencies to support the Compliance Strategy of Right First Time Goods To Market.
  • Work within and be responsible for Compliance related budgets and spend.

  • Delivery of strategic objectives ensuring customer targets are met.
  • Driving right 1st time compliance standards reducing risk.

  • Proven experience in a comparable senior Compliance role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop a team.
  • Ability to set and drive strategic goals (3-5 years).
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in managing stakeholders and influencing at all levels.
  • Resilient and adaptable with a future-facing perspective.
  • Strong understanding of European technical standards and regulations.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
