What are you looking for?

Your role in our network

In this challenging and international role, you will be part of the Operations Grains team and report directly to the team lead. You are responsible for ensuring proper execution of the trade flows. In this role you will administrate logistical issues by executing the Purchase and Sales contracts ensuring that you are accurately reading, checking the contractual obligations, conditions, and details of these contracts. Our new Operations Officer is ambitious, is an excellent communicator and has the ability to proactively work together with all stakeholders. At Viterra, we make things happen and as Operations Officer, you will be responsible to check the shipment documentation and ensure that payments are made and received on time as well as maintain a correct inventory and administration for our international trades.

What will you do?

  • You are coordinating the logistics to ensure that dry bulk movements are properly and efficiently loaded and discharged;
  • Make sure each shipment is accompanied by a complete and correct set of documentation;
  • You will put logistical information in to our system;
  • Timely presentation of prepared documentation (such as bill of lading and certificates of origin) are key in completing operations effectively;
  • You will maintain clear lines of communication with internal departments, colleagues from our international field offices, as well as external third parties and our customers.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have a Bachelor degree in logistics, or a similar field;
  • At least 1 year of relevant working experience in logistics;
  • You have good communication skills with a feeling for cultural differences;
  • A pro-active approach, foreseeing potential issues and quickly finding solutions when they arise;
  • You are eager to develop understanding of the workings of a complex commodity business;
  • Applicants must be residing in the Netherlands to be considered for this position;
  • A combination of strong logistics and administrative skills.
