What we ask

  • Academic degree in Mechanical Engineering, food technology, manufacturing or similar field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in commissioning of medium-large projects (>3MEUR) in manufacturing, preferably in FMCG
  • Operational hands-on experience & mindset in commissioning, process technology, QA/QC
  • Project management exposure gained from CapEx projects in a large multinational (preferably FMCG) or consulting firm
  • Safety top of mind, seamless cross-functional collaboration and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and cultures
  • You are customer focused and able to act with speed and decisiveness to achieve the best results
  • You take ownership for your work and are continuously looking for new opportunities to make a change
  • You are able and willing to travel abroad (ca. 20%)

Vacancy description

As a Commissioning & Start-up Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient transition of our large-scale CapEx projects from construction to full production.

  • Strategically plan for success: Define the commissioning and start-up plan and objectives during the project preparation phase, implementing a robust Front-End-Loading methodology.
  • Lead execution with precision: Manage the implementation of the commissioning and start-up plan during project execution, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and all relevant regulations, with a strong focus on food safety and quality.
  • Guarantee compliance and quality: Develop and execute a comprehensive validation plan for equipment, systems, and processes to meet regulatory requirements and product quality specifications.
  • Empower operational readiness: Oversee the delivery of training plans, operating procedures, and project documentation to ensure a seamless operational start-up.
  • Orchestrate collaborative success: Act as a key liaison between plant operations teams, suppliers, and contractors to effectively execute the commissioning and start-up plan.
  • Drive project health: Maintain a clear overview of commissioning and start-up progress through diligent monitoring and reporting, proactively addressing challenges and implementing solutions to ensure project success.
  • Champion global capability development: Contribute to the growth of CSU capabilities (skills, documentation, processes, and systems) at a global scale through training, standardization initiatives, and knowledge sharing, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
