THE ROLE

As (Senior) Change Manager you will play an essential role in leading and implementing change initiatives across our organization. You will focus on the people side of change and your primary responsibility is to enable successful and sustainable change by minimizing disruption and maximizing the benefits of the changes for all stakeholders involved. Key activities include creation and execution of change management strategies and plans. You will be the competence expert who facilitates, coaches and guides stakeholders and teams through successful change journeys.

Initial assignments include supporting the further implementation of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems and supporting other key initiatives within Damen Naval. You will be working closely with management and departments of engineering, manufacturing, IT, and HR.

The role involves further expanding the change management capability within one of our divisions, this in close collaboration with the existing team of 7 other change managers and a growing change management community. You will report to the head of change management within Damen.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Acts as ‘sparring partner’ for product- and line managers / functional leads and project managers in assessing change impact and change readiness;
  • Advises, designs and agrees the change strategy and plan with project leadership using standardized methods and frameworks;
  • Responsible for defining, driving and monitoring the change deliverables;
    • Change Impact analyses and action plans;
    • Training Key-users & End users;
    • Change communication & Readiness monitoring: Employees, Key-users and Managers;
  • Coordinates and executes communication activities and reviews and delivers the required communication materials;
  • Identifying people, risks and issues that may impact success of the project, escalating and working with the appropriate people to resolve;
  • Regular and timely reporting of change status to project steering committee;
  • Identify change management training needs and coach and train project teams and management;
  • Coach or consult leaders and project teams for smaller initiatives;
  • Ensure re-use of best practices and approaches. Furthermore, contribute to building and maintaining with the change management community.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master level
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Change Management roles
  • Has knowledge of / experience in the most common Change Management theories & practices (preferably licensed PROSCI practitioner or trainer)
  • Has knowledge of / experience with Lean and Agile principles
  • Has experience in working on complex business transformation/process improvement/IT systems projects in a technical industrial environment (preferably heavy manufacturing, shipbuilding)
  • Has experience in an international organization working within different cultures
  • Fluent in English

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, while meeting deadlines;
  • Organizational sensitive and customer oriented; recognizing effects in other part of the organization and able to support internal customers;
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess impact of proposed changes in different fields
  • Proactive, adaptable, and resilient, with a passion for driving the people side of change
  • You are a real team player who likes to work together and collaborates across the organization;
  • Well-structured and creative.
