Our Papendrecht site is specialized in manufacturing empennages, wing components, fuselage parts, wiring systems and landing gear for commercial aircraft, business Jets, rotorcraft and fighter aircraft. An approximate of 2,600 employees work for major customers like Airbus, Boeing, Gulfstream, Dassault, NHIndustries and Lockheed Martin.

As a Graduate Trainee, you will be a member of our Engineering team, that focuses on the design and manufacturing of Aerostructures and Landing Gear parts and components.

What You'll be Doing

During your placements you will be working as part of a global team, giving you the opportunity to experience different cultures and work with a diverse range of people. Whether you envisage an engineering career in Design, Manufacturing or Technology Research and Development, choosing GKN Aerospace means you are joining a global engineering network with wide-ranging opportunities.

Throughout your 24-month graduate journey, we give you the opportunity to test and grow your technical and personal skills. We provide support by offering you technical trainings (tools, knowledge, manufacturing) and mentoring as you work on real projects, solving real problems and delivering real change. We aim to match your capabilities and aspirations to our strategic and operational needs –ensuring a thriving business for us and fulfilling career for you. As part of our Engineering Graduate Program you can expect the following:

  • Rotation within and outside Engineering:
  • Within Engineering: Product Group (bid support), Centers of Competence (tools & methods development), Production Support, Sub-functions (test, weights, configuration management, etc.).
  • Outside Engineering: Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Preparation, Tooling, Quality, etc.
  • Placements at a variety of Manufacturing Sites, our Global Technology Centre and within the Global Engineering Function, including international exposure.
  • Performing and supporting engineering testing, verification, and delivery of technical content and solutions within an engineering laboratory, test, or work environment.
  • Developing and deploying cutting-edge and transformational manufacturing technology solutions to meet our ambitious sustainability and productivity targets.
  • Introduction and support of root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements, within agreed program, schedule, and manufacturing constraints
  • Supporting operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects, utilizing engineering and problem solving skills.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's or higher in Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering or similar,
  • Passion for aerospace design and manufacturing,
  • Dedicated, tenacious, creative and resourceful,
  • (Self-) Disciplined and able to mobilize commitment,
  • Fluent in English,
  • Residence in the Netherlands.
