We are seeking an experienced Head of Strategic Marketing for our MEA Business Unit to lead the marketing strategy for Skretting and Trouw Nutrition. You will define key markets, countries, and segments, ensuring alignment between local and global teams.

You’ll create a strong MEA identity, inspiring both colleagues and customers, while fostering collaboration across opcos, portfolio managers, and global marketing teams.

About The Role: Shaping the Future of Strategic Marketing in MEA

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and regularly update a prioritized list of target countries, species, and customer segments based on market potential, competition, and strategic alignment.
  • Create and refine frameworks and criteria to assess and revisit the “where to play” strategy in response to evolving market trends and data.
  • Defines the strategic 'how to win,' including competitive positioning, value proposition, and resource allocation, while guiding Portfolio Managers in tailoring strategies to products, developing tactical plans, and coordinating execution with operational companies and sales teams. Drive Commercial Excellence for the business unit, collaborating with opcos to identify the most effective Route to Market and implement pricing strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide the BU marketing team, providing clear direction on strategic priorities and supporting portfolio managers to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with Nutreco's broader goals and contribute to the sustainable growth and profitability of Skretting and Trouw Nutrition across the MEA region.

Skills and Expertise

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or an MBA in Business Administration, Marketing Strategy, or a related field.
  • Extensive strategic marketing experience, preferably within a related industry and across multi-country/emerging markets.
  • Strong strategic thinker with the ability to focus on the commercial realization of concepts/ideas. Skilled in project management to ensure timely execution of short-term plans.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities, with a focus on driving growth, building customer relationships, and inspiring and influencing teams. Skilled at formulating and communicating a clear vision and strategy, translating it into actionable, high-impact plans.
  • Culturally sensitive, with a proven ability to work effectively across diverse, international environments.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent skills in communication and networking to effectively engage with business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time, particularly to the Netherlands, to maintain strong connections with global teams and regional operations.
  • Must be based in one of Nutreco’s offices located in the Netherlands, Egypt, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, or South Africa. (This is a hybrid role, with no requirement for daily office attendance.)
