About the Company:

OMA is an international architecture and urbanism practice founded in 1975. With offices in Rotterdam, New York, Hong Kong, and Australia, the practice is led by seven partners: Rem Koolhaas, Reinier de Graaf, Iyad Alsaka, Shohei Shigematsu (NY), Jason Long (NY), David Gianotten, and Chris van Duijn. Over the past four decades, OMA has produced a broad portfolio of projects, employing a team of more than 200 architects, designers, and researchers with a diverse range of experience and expertise. AMO, a research and design studio, often works in parallel with OMA’s clients, enriching architecture with intelligence drawn from a wide range of other disciplines.

About the Role:

OMA's Rotterdam office is looking for an HR Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing all aspects of HR processes and the employee lifecycle, working closely with the HR team. You will serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding personnel policies, people operations, and employment conditions. Additionally, you will provide expert advice and ensure compliance with local employment regulations.

The HR department in Rotterdam oversees and implements processes and policies related to the employee lifecycle across OMA's global offices. This includes areas such as recruitment, employee benefits, salary administration, sick leave, health and safety, and immigration procedures.

We are looking for an organized, hands-on professional with a people-first mindset, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of HR policies. If you have experience managing day-to-day HR operations, including immigration processes such as visa applications and leave management within the Netherlands, and are eager to contribute to an international environment, we encourage you to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Labour Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Dutch labour law.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience with cloud based HR and ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities:

  • Execution of all aspects of our HR processes, such as onboarding, performance management, absenteeism, legal matters, employment conditions, and payroll administration for our Hong Kong entity.
  • Monitoring and maintaining employee files and data, ensuring compliance with HR related laws and regulations.
  • Ensuring that all new hires, departures, absences, promotions, and other changes are recorded accurately and on time.
  • Continuously promoting improvements in our HR systems and processes to achieve greater efficiency.
  • Ensuring timely and clear communication of employee data, both internally and to external providers, such as pension and occupational health providers.
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and generating reports related to employee leaves, compliance, and other HR metrics.
  • Reviewing and ensuring accurate timesheet registration for our employees.
  • Managing the entire intern lifecycle for the Rotterdam office, including onboarding, performance evaluations, and exit procedures.

What We Offer:

  • A full-time employment contract (40 hours per week).
  • A competitive salary based on experience, with additional benefits including 30 vacation days per calendar year, 8% holiday allowance, and participation in a collective pension plan.
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment within OMA’s Rotterdam office.
  • Career growth opportunities in a leading, international firm within the architecture industry.

OMA is an international practice operating within the traditional boundaries of architecture and urbanism. AMO, a research and design studio, applies architectural thinking to domains beyond.
