The only way to create the best Infant formula is knowing your raw materials!

In the team of Specialized Nutrition we work on infant formula. The foundations of our products are the raw materials we use. Therefore it is important that we know the exact nutrient composition of our raw materials and that we monitor this on regular frequency.

During your internship you will work on the optimization and automation of this monitoring process. You will set up tools to make the process more efficient, but also investigate the variation of raw materials yourself.

The internship will last 4-6 months with a preferable starting date in March 2025.

What we ask

To be successful in this position, you have/ are:

• A Bachelor’s or Master student, preferably in the area of food technology or chemical technology.
• Interested in data analysis, statistics and modelling (experience with Excel and/or PowerBI is a plus)
• Pragmatic, proactive, accurate and able to interpret data and to report on this in a fast and concise way.
• You have a broader view than just your position and you can identify with our purpose ‘Nourishing by Nature’
• You take responsibility for your work and are continuously looking for new opportunities to make a change

Vacancy description

As an intern, you will work on the monitoring of our raw materials. You will closely work with Product Development, R&D and the production sites.

Examples of activities you will do during your internship (but not limited to)

• Optimize the monitoring process by using Excel or PowerBI
• Review and investigate the monitoring data of selected raw materials
• Collaborate with and possibly visit different production locations for data exchange and evaluation of the process

Your results will be implemented in our department and will contribute to the development of the best infant formula.

You will work in the team of Specialized Nutrition, which consists of ca. 60 colleagues working on infant food. You will report on a regular basis to a raw material specification specialist, who will help with setting the scope of your internship. In addition, you will get help from lab technicians and regular discussions and support by development specialists. The location is Wageningen Innovation Centre and your home office.
