Are You the Technical Guru (Male/Female) We're Looking For? Do You Enjoy Combining Technology with Travel? This Is Your Chance!

In a world full of industrial automation, service has become paramount. This demands expert people with a high level of customer friendliness. Will you go the extra mile to uncover the root cause of a problem? Do you enjoy traveling to clients when needed to add direct value by installing new software, troubleshooting, or making improvements?

Your Role

Controls Support Expert... Sounds interesting, but what does it entail?

You'll work with our in-house developed software based on QNX or Linux and C++. This software controls our automated Material Handling System. We utilize innovative technologies and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that our clients get the most out of process automation. The work you perform is immediately visible in the client's system!

As the last line of support within the Service Desk EU/APAC organization, your primary task is to analyze and resolve incidents (root cause analysis). Prevention is better than cure, so you'll come up with solid, permanent solutions and manage or oversee their implementation. This is mostly done via VPN, though you will sometimes travel to the client for on-site work. So, will you be heading to clients in places like Japan or Spain? Of course, there are many more exciting tasks in this role, which we’d love to explain in a personal conversation.

Your Responsibilities

  • Managing complex, often multidisciplinary incidents and problems.
  • Continuously improving our processes and products (such as tools and technologies).
  • Contributing to a quality knowledge management and training environment.
  • Promoting collaboration between colleagues, departments, and clients.
  • Introducing new products and services within the team.

Your workplace is flexible, allowing you to work from home two days a week. We highly value personal contact with your colleagues, so we look forward to seeing you at the office.

Travel is an important aspect of this role. In mutual agreement, you may spend up to 40% of your time at the client’s site! Don’t forget your passport and any necessary visas!

Who Are You?

You're a go-getter and don't give up until you find a solution. You’re confident in approaching colleagues with your questions and are eager to learn from them. Additionally, you enjoy teaching your colleagues. Working in a team energizes you, and you’re always ready to lend a hand.

Furthermore, you have

  • A technical educational background.
  • Knowledge of PROFINET, ASi, and networking; experience with Siemens PLC/TIA Portal is a plus.
  • Strong command of the English language (both spoken and written).
  • No issues with participating in a standby rotation (with compensation, about once every 5-6 weeks).
  • A flexible mindset and a proactive approach.

Do you not fully meet the requirements listed above? No problem, we’d still like to talk with you!

Your Team

If you enjoy working in an international organization where you interact daily with different cultures, then Vanderlande is the place for you. Your team consists of over 30 dedicated engineers with technical backgrounds. It’s a healthy mix of young, talented individuals and seasoned professionals.

As you enter the department, your colleagues greet you, you catch up, and start your workday with coffee, tea, or just water, possibly followed by a quick team meeting. The tasks are clear, and you're ready to dive in!

“Together with your colleagues, you support our largest client. You’re an essential part of the Dedicated Service Desk, delivering 24/7 support to ensure a happy client! There’s no challenge too big!”

Your Colleague, Colleague's Role

“How Do We Achieve This? Through dedication, collaboration, and learning from each other. Naturally, there’s room for a healthy dose of humor in the department. We believe it’s important that you enjoy coming to work!”
