HEINEKEN is looking for you!

Every day we work with pride on our great products that you have certainly had in your hand at a party or at home on the couch. HEINEKEN is much more than just beer. With our portfolio of over 500 individual brands (beers, cider, hard seltzers, soft drinks etc.) we are active worldwide, inter alia through our operating companies and joint ventures in 80 countries. We actively work to create a pleasant work environment where everyone feels respected and has equal opportunities. Your personality, knowledge and skills are the success of our organization.

The internship

The department IP, Advertising & Sponsorships is part of HEINEKEN Global Legal Affairs. From our head-office in downtown Amsterdam, we advise our colleagues from marketing and public affairs departments, as well as our colleagues in our operating companies around the globe. Our work concerns trademark, design and copyright law, as well as advertising law. Further, we are involved in the creation and assessment of commercials and other promotional materials, both online and offline. In that context, AI is a hot topic. Our work also includes working with celebrities and influencers contracts. Last but not least, we also advise on HEINEKEN’s global sponsorships, including the UEFA Champions League® and Formula1®.

As an intern, you are an important part of our team. You will support our legal counsels with research on legislation and case law, as well as with drafting cease-and-desist letters and procedural documents. You will also be joining in the assessment of commercials, post and ads on social media and other campaigns. Finally, you will help posting interesting news for our intellectual property colleagues worldwide. Your internship will be a great mix of legal contentious work and business-savvy advice.

Apart from gaining experience in the fields our department works in, your internship will also be an opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as a company, also outside our department. Obviously, you will join us for our weekly drinks and other get-togethers.

The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is February 1st or September 1st, 2025
  • The internship is fulltime (in consultation also 4 days a week possible)
  • The duration of the internship is 4 to 6 months
  • You will be based in Amsterdam
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross per month based on fulltime (With a start from 01 January 2025)
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

The start of your internship

Together with a diverse group of interns from different departments you will start your internship at HEINEKEN. Together you will be introduced to the organization. Furthermore, you can join fun activities with your fellow interns.

The unique you!

We believe that everyone has unique talents and are therefore looking for you! More specifically, we are looking for:

  • Law students, in their final Bachelor year or Masters
  • Clear interest and passion for intellectual property law
  • As we mainly work with international colleagues, we are looking for candidates with a proficiency in English. Knowledge of the Dutch language is strongly preferred.

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  1. You are enrolled at an educational institution during the course of the internship.
  2. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution.
  3. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  4. Physical presence at the location of your internship. We believe that you learn most when you can work directly with your colleagues. It is therefore not possible to work completely remote and HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing.
