Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The Supply Chain Intelligence (SCI) team drives excellence in reporting & analytics capabilities to increase transparency and visibility across the entire Supply Chain organization. In addition, the team provides insights and scenario-based simulations to drive improvements.

The role ensures that the Global SCM business has visibility to key data points and performance drivers to ensure relevant decisions are made with the best understanding of business objectives, performance, and KPI impacts. The role will also ensure that all relevant attributes and metrics are developed and reported in a format and frequency suitable to meeting business requirements and objectives with the following key deliverables:

  • Create data transparency on key performance drivers in the most automated way.
  • Contribute to creating a unified version of the truth, enhancing collaboration across functions.
  • Ensure that all relevant metrics are developed in a format and frequency suitable to meeting business requirements and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

The role is about taking the full lead and ownership on the “Back-End” engineering activities for a specific SCI functional “Supply Planning” vertical pillar. This involves being:

SCM functional data, process, and systems expert

  • Ensure close connection with the markets and/or Global functions to secure a clear understanding of the current setup and practices.
  • Interact with the BPM’s and system Product Owners from the different SCM functions to capture systems and process changes.
  • Project plan the interdependencies between projects and ensure suitable timelines are maintained on projects and process improvements.

Back-End data engineering and product ownership

  • Lead a team of external data engineers/IT developers, define the “data engineering” tasks and monitor ETL’s on a regular basis.
  • Be a solution architect to implement the efficient data models & data pipelines by following the Data governance rules defined within the lakehouse.
  • Reduce the cost & improve the performance by optimizing the data pipelines & attribute/metric logics.
  • Act as a “Product Owner” by securing that Supply Chain Intelligence reporting use cases are properly translated into technical requirements to be handed over to the engineers in a consistent and harmonized way.
  • Prioritize, plan, monitor, and communicate the reporting development done in an Agile mode by the IT engineers in the “Back-End Application layer” in close collaboration with the Global D&A team in charge of data ingestion.
  • Recommend and implement Data Management improvements by determining systems, setting up optimal interfaces, and flow of data to ensure utmost efficiency and securing “One Version Of The Truth” (data accuracy & source integrity) in line with D&A guidelines.
  • Drive efforts towards data quality, standardization, and harmonization and produce the required requirements.
  • Manage Supply Chain end-to-end visibility improvements and deliver relevant reporting products in a timely manner.
  • Deliver on the evolution of SCI requirements on data, reporting, and KPI standards.
  • Manage the process of new Supply Chain visibility requirements from new demand and incidents intake to communication and training associated with the new tools and processes.
  • Create detailed and up-to-date documentation.

BI Reporting expert

  • Ensure close collaboration with the different teams involved in the End-to-End data flow to clearly understand interdependencies and responsibilities.
  • Develop technical knowledge to fully understand the adidas reporting framework and support quick issue identification and resolution.

Hard skills

  • Strong coding skills (must have: SQL; nice to have: Python, PySpark)
  • Hands-on experience on Databricks and/or on any other Database/Datawarehouse tools.
  • Strong understanding of Data lake, ETL, deployments tools (Bitbucket & Jenkins) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
  • Can do attitude, attention to detail, able to do hands-on development & testing.
  • Good understanding of BI tools (Power BI,..)
  • Ability to understand and design data into efficient reporting.
  • Proficient in relational database concepts with a very good working knowledge of Planning (preferably SAP IBP) and ERP (preferably SAP S/4 HANA) systems.
  • Ability to manage and participate in Reporting & Analytics projects as assigned.
  • Expert in AGILE project management principles and methodologies.
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain principles and operating processes.

Requisite Education:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in information technology or in the areas of supply chain management, logistics, planning, business administration from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
