About the Crewing Department

The Crewing Department ensures the delivery of trained and qualified operators to operate Ampelmann systems active offshore worldwide, setting the benchmark for excellence in the Walk-to-Work industry. By overseeing the planning, supervision, and evaluation of operators, they guarantee optimal performance. From recruitment and development to encouraging the right mindset and motivation, the Crewing Department plays an essential role in supporting our operations with skilled professionals driving our global offshore projects.

Your role as Manager Crewing

As Manager Crewing you are responsible for the overall performance of the Crewing team. You translate global company strategy into actionable department objectives and lead, coach and develop your team members enabling them to reach their full potential. As Manager Crewing you are the focal point for all strategic matters regarding our operators, such as the global operator planning, operator performance management and creating a future-proof pool of operators. You drive a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision making and ensure that global quality standards are set and maintained.

In the current organization the following functions will report to you: the Team Lead Crewing Coordinators -leading 7 Crewing Coordinators worldwide-, a Project Manager Crewing, and 6 Operator Team Leads who are responsible for Operator Performance Management. You will report to the Director Operations.

Regular activities

  • Executing the performance management cycle to your team members, enabling them to reach their full potential.
  • Creating the overall department strategy in a fast-changing environment to ensure an optimal global operator planning in a sustainable and cost-effective way.
  • Accountable for the Operator Performance Management strategy together with a team of Operator Team Leads; ensuring optimal operator performance worldwide.
  • Representing the Crewing department in Operations MT and other strategic cross-functional/departmental collaborations.
  • Continuous assessment of contracts and processes, and overseeing quality of staffing agencies and other third-party suppliers.

We ask

  • BSc/MSc degree and >7 years of relevant experience; crew planning in offshore industry or similar.
  • Possessing strong talent for people management, combined with the ability to effectively manage business demands, and having excellent decision-making skills.
  • Experience in (remote) management/leadership role is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and using data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills (in English and Dutch); i.e. ability to communicate with stakeholders on different levels.
