Sustainability Officer

Job description Roveg Fruit has strongly focused on sustainability in recent years. We aim to reduce our ecological footprint by using solar panels on our warehouse and implement sustainable packaging. We also reduce food waste with a special coating that extends the sustainability of avocados. This allows us to achieve 30-40% less product waste.

Roveg Fruit wants to take the next step in its sustainability mission! Together with our suppliers and customers, we are constantly looking for ways to make our ecological footprint in the production and transport process sustainable. Think of sustainable packaging, the correct use of pesticides, guiding our suppliers, etc. We also look for ways to enhance our social impact in a positive way.

What are you going to do?

• You set sustainability goals and develop them into concrete actions;
• Create both internal and external support to achieve these sustainability goals;
• You translate complex sustainability topics and requirements from certifications into relevant input within the organization;
• You support your colleagues during audits;
• Organization of data reporting in the field of sustainability, for example for the upcoming CSRD reporting requirements;
• Following the relevant laws and regulations and translate that to the need of our organisation;
• You support the commercial department in their contact with customers and provide advice and, if necessary, visit customers as an expert in your field;
• You maintain an active network and are the ambassador for sustainability.

What do we expect?

• HBO at academic working and thinking level;
• For example, a study at the HAS or you had sustainability as a subject within an (economic) study.
• 2-5 years of working experience within sustainability
• Passion for and knowledge of sustainability within the food sector;
• Interest or skills in data analysis, excel and Life Cycle Assessments (LCA);
• Interest in researching, summarising and presenting complex information in a non-technical manner into the organisation;
• You are enterprising, customer and results-oriented and think in creative solutions to achieve results;
• Good command of the Dutch and English language
