Your responsibilities

As member of the Group Financial Control department within Group Finance you will be reporting to the Director of the Group Financial Control Team. You will help accelerate our sustainability reporting efforts and have a crucial role in the further implementation of the sustainability reporting regulations (CSRD and EU Taxonomy) within Vanderlande. Apart from the external reporting you will also play an instrumental role in our internal reporting on our sustainability targets towards the Management Board. You will do this together with the team and the project team focusing on our CSRD implementation.

As Group Sustainability Controller, you:

  • Execute sustainability control at group level and advise the legal entities on local reporting requirements;
  • Co-ordinate and prepare external reporting according to the monthly timelines and ensure high quality reporting;
  • Develop ESG measurement and reporting policies;
  • Address audit questions;
  • Help translating the VI strategic Sustainability goals into a Finance strategy, roadmap and targets;
  • Explore and propose innovative, efficient, and cost-effective data solutions to meet sustainability information needs and to drive sustainability performance.
  • Support the stakeholders, by giving (un)solicited advise in the Sustainability Reporting domain;
  • (Become a) Subject matter expert in Sustainability Reporting and assist in the implementation of the CSRD;
  • Assist in the development of internal control framework covering sustainability;
  • Initiate and participate in Sustainability programs with the continuous improvement mindset.

Your qualifications and skills:

If you’re an enthusiastic Sustainability Controller, you will excel at:

  • Eagerness to fully understand the topic and willingness to share knowledge throughout the organization;
  • A team player attitude with focus on delivering high quality output;
  • Acting as a knowledgeable Sustainability Reporting expert for the businesses and functions;
  • Working in teams, but take ownership for your work.

You should bring:

  • Bachelor's (HBO) or Master degree in the area of Finance or Sustainability; RA or RC is a pré;
  • Experience with sustainability reporting regulation is a pré, interest in sustainability reporting is a must;
  • Knowledge of the reporting standards (e.g. CSRD, EU Taxonomy, IFRS);
  • 3-5 years of relevant reporting experience, preferably in an international corporate environment or audit firm;
  • An excellent command of the English language (both verbal and written);
  • Dutch or other languages would be advantageous;
  • Analytic tool skills.
