About the position

As Product Manager Service, you have ownership of the service aspects during the entire life-cycle of Vanderlande Products ranging from baggage handling systems, parcel conveyors, and sortation systems up to fully automated warehousing systems. In a multidisciplinary Product Team (consisting of R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Service) you represent Service. You have a clear overview of market developments and knowledge of the long-term needs of our end-customers in terms of service and life-cycle planning. You drive service business growth by proactively creating optimizations with your product(s)/product lines and are able to think of opportunities for both the customer and Vanderlande.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop, introduce, and improve Product Life-cycle Management processes;
  • Provide input to the product team on the Product portfolio based on technology developments, feedback from the market, customers, and Customer Centers;
  • Ensure the implementation of service requirements and quality of service deliverables for both new and existing products keeping value creation for Vanderlande and our customers continuously in mind;
  • Use the product introduction process from the Life-cycle Services organization for the successful introduction and phase-out of products;
  • Act as an expert consultant on Product Life-cycle by:
    • Identifying problems and business opportunities whilst ensuring follow-up by R&D and Engineering according to Service Level Agreement (SLA)
    • Anticipating on End of Supply (EoS) issues, defining measures to ensure availability, and creating business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a close relationship with all stakeholders (internal and external) in the Life-cycle Services and Technology organization.

The department

The Operations (Ops) Module Management Services department is part of Global Operations. The department manages the successful introduction of new products within Life-cycle Services, which accounts for more than 20% of the total sales at Vanderlande. The Product Manager Service will be working at the Ops Module Management Services department. The department manages the product service requirements and prepares the organization for effective and efficient execution of life-cycle services. Next to that, the department monitors the performance of the products in the customer installed base and uses these insights to advise on product improvements.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree with a technical background (e.g. mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering);
  • About 7 years of relevant experience in a technical work environment or manufacturing industry;
  • Experience in Service, Product Management, or an R&D environment is preferred;
  • Business development focus and experience with stakeholder management (both internally/externally);
  • Concepting and consulting skill set;
  • You are a self-starter with strong communication skills and able to challenge and influence others;
  • Good command of English.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 4607,25 to 6186,88 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
