The Internship

Join our legal team at Heineken Global Procurement and gain hands-on experience in a global company. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on various legal projects, collaborate with different departments, and develop your skills in a supportive environment.

Main responsibilities:
  • Assisting with legal research, drafting contracts, and reviewing legal documents.
  • Working on compliance projects, supporting contract negotiations, and participating in legal team meetings.
  • Primarily working with the legal team, but also collaborating with procurement and other departments.

During your internship, you will get the opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as a company, also outside your department. We give you the trust and freedom, so you can work like a real entrepreneur. We like to bring the outside world inside and therefore we embrace new, fresh ideas with enthusiasm. Of course, always with the guidance that is right for you.

The Department

From our head office in Amsterdam, the HEINEKEN Global Legal Affairs team deals with a wide variety of legal matters. Our team comprises of both broadly oriented lawyers, dealing with contracting, litigation and M&A, as well as specialists within the field of intellectual property, copyright, trademarks, design and advertising law, competition law, and data privacy law. We advise our colleagues at our headquarters and subsidiaries around the world.

During your internship, you will be fully part of our team. You will support the HEINEKEN Global Procurement’s lawyers in carrying out legislative, literature, jurisprudence and/or research and in reviewing and drafting a wide variety of agreements and other legal documents, with a specific focus on supporting our legal counsels advising our colleagues within Heineken Global Procurement. Your focus will be on supporting HEINEKEN’s Global Procurement legal team which arranges for the purchase of raw ingredients, brewing equipment, emission-reducing technologies, and anything else HEINEKEN needs to function as a business. It will give great exposure to how large corporations in general, and HEINEKEN in particular, function.

In addition, you will assist our business with ad hoc questions from around the world. This way, your internship will be a nice mix of legal content and business-savvy advice. Finally, you are invited to all our team activities (formal and informal) – and we love to have a drink together on Thursday nights.

The Terms of Employment

  • Your starting date is 1 February 2025.
  • The internship is full-time.
  • The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor).
  • It is a practice-oriented internship.
  • During your internship, you have the flexibility to work in a hybrid setup.
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross per month based on 40 hours per week.
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on full-time).
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed.

  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing.
