USP Operations Planning Team Leader

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading a small team of Production Planners to support the Production Operations teams with monitoring, reporting, challenging performance, driving corrective recovery actions when off plan and reviewing daily performance through the Operations DSUM structure.
  • Evaluate and control change embodiment (including unplanned work) to minimise overall business impact. Providing recommendations within the extended team based on a compromise between operational impact, programme impact, risk and resultant cost.
  • Scenario planning (short term) – develop 'what if' programmes to support senior strategic decisions to mitigate internal capacity constraints (i.e. offload proposals and repatriation of work).
  • Contract planning – delivery of the Customer Programmes in line with contract/planning requirements.
  • Resource and capacity planning – determine the production capacity needed by each Manufacturing area to be able to discharge the operational plans taking into account labour, utilisation, budgets, man to machine ratios and other constraints.
  • Project management of Manufacturing related non-recurring activities such as bespoke scheduling, pre-production readiness and mobilisation activities etc.
  • Process development and documentation – responsible for process development and continuous improvement activities across Operational Planning.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Strong Production Planning background with knowledge of toolsets (e.g. MS Project/ERP/S&OP/Capacity Planning).
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the capability to build relationships across multi-functional teams and broad stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Desire and willingness to learn and develop through functional framework.

Desirable:

  • Recognition through an appropriate Professional Supply Chain or Project Management body (i.e. CILT or APM).
  • Master production scheduling experience.

Production Operations team:

This role sits within the US Programmes (USP) Line of Business, responsible for planning activities across the US Production Operations Carbon Fibre Composite Facility. As an Operations Planning Team Leader, you will have the opportunity to work in a varied and fast-paced operational environment working close with the product and Operational teams.
