Field Leader

We are looking for an experienced Consultant (4-6 years) for the role of Field Leader who is ready to take the lead in helping our clients shape and realize their Information and Data vision and ambitions. You will be part of our consultancy practice, and will be responsible for the availability of knowledge and quality of delivery by our consultants. You will build services, share best practices, and advise as a subject-matter expert.

How are the Fields organized?

As Field Leader you will become part of our consultancy practice, where you will be trained in various methodologies, standards and tools relating to our work. We expect you to bring your network and experience in consulting and information management to the table, but recognise that you will need training to fully grasp the impact and reach of our products and services. We will guide you through those first steps, after which you will find that you have a lot of freedom and a very entrepreneurial role to develop existing and new knowledge and services.

Within our consultancy practice, Master Data Management is the field of managing golden records and enterprise knowledge, such as the management of libraries containing Object Type Libraries and Specification Libraries. Master data is created once and distributed to all users to be used time and time again. Semantic Modeling is the art of describing meaning in a way that is interpretable for both people and computers. It is about designing information models to be used as blueprints for software development, such as Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) applications.

The consultancy practice is a diverse group of professionals, greatly varying in (educational) background, personal drive and nationality, but all with a willingness to help our clients become the best in what they do. The consultancy practice is organized into four distinct yet very complementary capabilities, and we offer you the opportunity to develop yourself in any of these depending on your personal drive, ambition and aptitude:

• Fields – The Fields support projects and business development with deep expertise, as well as the development of thought leadership within their respective area of expertise (e.g. support product- and service development, speak at conferences, write blogs, define new propositions).
• Project Delivery – The Project Delivery practice collectively provides the consulting and project management capabilities that are required for the smooth delivery of projects and services. This is also where all junior consultants start their Semmtech journey, after which they choose in which direction to develop.
• Industries – The Industry consultants have a deep understanding of the value chain and ecosystem of their specific industries and clients. They help grow the impact and value we deliver at existing and new clients through business development, account- and relationship management.
• Research & Innovation – The Research & Innovation team supports the whole company with the development of new innovative ideas, and bringing these to life through internal- and external projects, MVPs and pilots, ultimately delivering them back to the Fields, Industries and Development for further scaling.

What will you do as a Field Leader

• Create and transfer knowledge to grow our consulting capabilities
• Align knowledge interfaces with other areas of expertise, such as Linked Data, Integrations, and Artificial Intelligence
• Develop services and instruments to enable delivery by consultants
• Train and support consultants on Field knowledge
• Coach, guide, and grow highly-skilled Field Experts
• Develop solutions based on client needs and opportunities
• Advise clients on digital ambitions, roadmaps and strategic plans
• Provide subject-matter advice to project teams
• Work with Innovation to develop new methods and tools
• Work with Industries to gain and distribute insights in industry-specific materials and needs
• Provide input for Product Management and Marketing & Sales teams
• Take part in memberships of Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

What skills and qualifications do you have

• A master’s degree, preferably in Civil Engineering / Technology / Business Administration
• Fluent in both Dutch and English
• 3-6 years working experience
• Strong analytical, communication and commercial skills
• Background in technology consulting / information management / business analysis
• Convincing track record in knowledge management and organization
• Enthusiasm for:
• New technology & Data science / Data management
• Systems engineering & low-code applications
• Tools and processes as a means for value creation
