To strengthen our support to researchers, we are creating a new role in our office that combines grants advice with project management. If you are passionate about securing funding for research and have experience in either project management or grants acquisition, we invite you to apply. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth, allowing you to combine grants advising with project management responsibilities. You will be part of and supported by a small team of experienced grants advisors and project manager.

Your duties

  • Support and coordination of Research Proposal Development: recognize and communicate grant and valorization opportunities for individual researchers, research groups, and departments ensuring comprehensive awareness, assist researchers in navigating the application process and internal support procedures, providing guidance and clarity every step of the way ensuring a streamlined and efficient collaboration among all stakeholders, provide advice and constructive feedback on research proposals, addressing structure, readability, planning, organization, budgeting, risk management, and impact.
  • Strengthen the Faculty’s Project Management Team: Provide support for ongoing faculty projects. Contribute to developing and maintaining a professional project management support structure to facilitate high-performance research. Collaborate with the project management community, refining processes and methods with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Management of Research Projects: for a couple specific projects you act as the scientific project leader’s right hand in managing relationships, organizational and financial aspects, and project delivery. Oversee all organizational, contractual, and financial/administrative processes related to research projects and handle internal and external communications, ensuring effective information flow.

Your profile

  • University degree or equivalent working and thinking level.
  • Affinity and/or experience with social sciences or scientific research is an advantage.
  • Experience in either planning, managing, and delivering successful projects or grant writing processes.
  • Self-organizing, independent professional with strong people skills and a solution-oriented approach. In your work, you are accurate and solution oriented. You are also eager to work within a team and handle each other’s work where necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

What do we offer?

  • A salary of minimum € 3.345,00 (Scale 10) and maximum € 6.148,00 (Scale 11) gross per month, on a full-time basis. This is based on UFO profile Knowledge Valorisation Officer 3, Knowledge Valorisation Officer 1. The exact salary depends on your education and experience.
  • A position for at least 0.8 FTE. Your employment contract will initially last 9 months.

  • A full-time 38-hour working week comes with a holiday leave entitlement of 232 hours per year. If you choose to work 40 hours, you have 96 extra holiday leave hours on an annual basis. For part-timers, this is calculated pro rata.
