Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences is a dynamic educational institution with more than 40,000 students and 4,000 employees. Throughout the city, we offer more than 90 study programmes in the fields of Art, Education, Behaviour and Society, Health Care, Economics, Technology and Media & IT.

Rotterdam Business School (RBS) brings together all commercial, business, finance, and international business programmes. The business school teaches approximately 13,000 students and employs approximately 750 employees. RBS distinguishes itself in its activities through four key themes: the purpose economy, the digital economy, circularity, and leadership. Especially these four emphases connect RBS to the Rotterdam region.

RBS is a community of professionals who, together with our students, form a knowledge institution for the economic field. RBS offers education that is accessible to everyone in the dynamic context of practice. Together with the Research Centre Business Innovation, RBS develops new knowledge for its own programmes and for the profession through high-quality, practice-based research.

What are you going to do?

Rotterdam Business School encourages their students to develop into rounded and employable graduates who can take their place confidently as global citizens in the 21st century with an appropriate knowledge base, a deep understanding of its limitations as well as its potential, and a desire to apply and add to new knowledge.

In this inspiring learning environment you facilitate student learning by undertaking teaching activities and supervising and coaching students both individually and in projects.

In your position of lecturer you make an important contribution to educational innovation within the context of competency-based learning.

For the coming period Rotterdam Business School is seeking to appoint lecturers for the Bachelor programmes for the following subjects or preferably a combination of the following subjects:

• Supply Chain Management
• Organisation & People
• Research

Are we looking for you?

In order to carry out the duties effectively, the person appointed is required to have the following skills and experience:

• a master degree in the subject required or in a closely related field (preferably economics);
• established teaching and coaching skills;
• (preferably) previous work experience with an international focus;
• a good understanding of current educational views, methods and techniques;
• the ability to integrate research-based and relevant current developments in the professional field into your teaching, thus pushing forward the boundaries of new knowledge;
• the ability to contribute to the development of the curriculum and parts of the educational programme;
• the ability to create a stimulating learning environment for the student;
• a flexible, and result-oriented attitude;
• a student-oriented attitude and intercultural sensitivity;
• English language skills at least on CAE level or other relevant programme;
• excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and a good team worker;
• a demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development;
• knowledge of and affinity with ICT.

What do we offer you?

Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Rotterdam) offers you a fixed term contract (D4) with the possibility of extension. The salary range is HBO-CAO grade 11 (€ 4.234,28 minimum and € 5.936,77 maximum per month) for full-time employment, exclusive of 8% holiday pay and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. Our fringe benefits include excellent training facilities, an attractive pension scheme, and allow for a proper work/life balance.

A certificate of good conduct is required for employment at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
