Role Title: CIO Group Controls CCO
Location: UK - NorthamptonWhat will you be doing Overall purpose of roleThe role is CIO Group Controls supports the Chief Control Office (CCO) function of group controls. This team have been implementing a new operating model for the Group, developing new risk identification techniques, and leading on control remediation and the CIO role is to operate as technology partner for the CCO organisation.

Key Accountabilities
The individual will manage the technology functions for Group Controls CCO, including technology change management, risk and control in order to provide a world-class client experience, underpinned by a lean cost base, strong controls and a culture of collaboration, innovation and high performance.

This individual will also serve as liaison to across all business units and operations teams in relation to CCO technology. Responsible for stakeholder management of leadership teams to ensure business objectives receive appropriate prioritization and funding for critical activities to support CCO technology, including ORAC and related technology platforms. This individual will also work closely with supplier management, even though this function does not report to this individual.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership The individual will serve as:

  • Member of the CCO COO and Business Executive Meetings and Forums
  • Member of the Consumer Banking, Payments and Group Controls CIO Senior Leadership Team

Risk and Control Objective
Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you do. As part of the COO CCO leadership team operating as an example for building and leading a strong risk and control capability and direct leadership of CCO technology platforms including ORAC.

What we’re looking for - Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology or related field
  • C-level experience preferred
  • Experienced operating and leading within a global organization
  • Strong general operational expertise
  • Change management skills, particularly around improving the customer experience
  • Strong leadership skills, demonstrated in a global, matrixed environment
  • Inspirational leadership style, exhibiting drive and determination and demonstrating resilience in the face of adversity
  • Team player; able to develop and build great relationships with stakeholders, and to manage and deliver results through collaboration / influence in a matrix environment.
  • Strong problem solver; able to manage complexity
