Job Description: Head of Theatres & Anaesthetics Cromwell Hospital London, SW5 0TU (5 mins walk from Earls Court underground or 7 mins walk from Gloucester Road underground.) Permanent Salary: Very Competitive Full Time 37.5 hrs per week Shift pattern – Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm plus occasional evening/ weekend shifts if required Join us and receive a one-off Golden Hello of £3000, or £5000 towards Domestic Relocation Costs (if applicable). Our main adult theatre is a busy and dynamic environment, setting the benchmark for clinical excellence. We have 5 operating suites catering for Cardiac, Orthopaedics, ENT and Ophthalmic, Da Vinci Surgery, Thoracic and Liver, Plastics, General/Vascular, Urology and Gynaecology. We work with surgeons who are the best in their specialities carrying out simple to the more complex surgeries. You’ll help us make health happen by: Your role as Head of Theatres & Anaesthetics at Bupa Cromwell hospital will be to provide high-level operational, strategic business planning and leadership to support the development and growth of the Theatres & Anaesthetics Department. Leading the review of relevant strategies and service plans to underpin the strategic objectives of the services, and the Hospital. You will build relationships with key stakeholders to support the delivery of Bupa Cromwell Hospital’s strategy and acting as the key link between services users and the hospital from both a quality and commercial performance perspective. To provide leadership, and continuing improvement to the people, within the defined clinical areas, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and service are delivered in an efficient and effective way. Own and maintain key performance measures for the services, which monitor key outcomes, and demonstrate delivery of ambitious targets to continually improve performance Provide strong, and visible leadership in partnership with the Clinical/Service Leads. Review/develop the service strategies underpinned by a business plan which will be led to deliver growth and profit generation. Working closely with service users, evaluating service and maximising investment to delivery strong and sustainable growth Engage and influence service users (consultants), providing overarching relationship management between the Hospital and key service users To deliver on an inclusive people and staff culture and create an environment that people love working in. Own the performance of the Division, where improvement requires cross functional activity, lead and co-ordinate this to resolution. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: Senior leadership experience or Masters in Health Management or MBA desirable Degree level education in appropriate discipline, or equivalent A successful track record in Theatre Leadership A successful track record of strategic planning and decision making in a competitive environment Able to demonstrate capability and capacity for clinical service management at a senior level in a healthcare environment, including strategic business planning, service delivery, staff and financial management strong commercial awareness and good general management experience, understanding the impact of operational efficiencies (and inefficiencies) on the overall revenue performance Experience in managing change programmes within complex environments.
