JOB SUMMARY

GAR Europe B.V. is looking for an enthusiastic new colleague with a broad scope of interests that is willing and able to support our current business. You will be fulltime resource based in our Netherlands office to handle logistics and operations of international sugar shipments. You will be in direct contact with our suppliers and customers as well as our trading, operations and accounting teams. You will be responsible for planning, execution, documentation and finalization of sugar shipments.

We are a young, ambitious and rapid growing company, active in the trading of bulk commodities and Oleo chemicals in Europe. We have offices in the Netherlands, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Singapore, India, USA. We are part of an international group, headquartered and stock exchange listed in Singapore and with various departments located across Indonesia.

Golden Agri World wide Sugar team trades about 800,000 MT / 30,000 TEUs of white sugar annually on a global scale. This encompasses a wide range of trade corridors, namely from origins like Brazil, Thailand, India, Guatemala, Europe to the sugar consumption areas in the Middle East, Mediterranean, West Africa and Asia.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Process Control / Operational Risk

• Protecting value for the company, performing daily tasks with diligence and responsibility.
• Planning of purchases and sales contracts in containerized shipments and potentially, bulk, break-bulk and truckloads.
• Monitoring contractual position, mitigate and report any operational risks to manager and operations/trading teams.
• Managing customer service/relationships on execution side (suppliers, buyers and third-party service providers).
• Preparation/verification/issuance of shipping documents.
• Invoicing and system entries in Agiblocks.
• Monitoring and administrating accounts payables and receivables (L/Cs, bank guarantees, CADs, deposits) and customers’ performance.
• L/Cs negotiation.
• Cargoes insurance policies.
• Handling quality claims and various customer complaints.
• Working closely with GAR global sugar teams around the globe, i.e. trading, freight and accounting departments.
• Any ad hoc projects on Logistics/Documents/Customer Service.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

· Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent in Economics/Agriculture/Supply Chain

EXPERIENCE

· 2 to 3 years of experience in commodities, preferably in Sugar.

· Interest in logistics, trading, trade operations and similar.

· Full proficiency in English. Knowledge of other languages (French, Portuguese, Arabic) is a benefit.
