Master Trading Agreement Negotiator

As a Barclays Master Trading Agreement Negotiator, you will be part of a global team within Markets Legal that is primarily accountable for the negotiation and execution of master trading documentation for Barclays’ client-facing Markets business. Your primary focus will be to draft, negotiate and execute various capital markets contract documentation supporting the Prime Services and Prime Derivatives Services (PDS) businesses of Barclays. Such contracts include ISDA, Futures, and Repurchase Agreement.

What will you be doing?

Assisting in the prime brokerage, futures, and related financing businesses by drafting, negotiating, and executing capital markets contract documentation

Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and documentation risk controls and adhering to associated guidelines and procedures

Conducting independent legal analysis and managing relationships with external counsel where necessary and within Barclays requirements on external legal spend

Advising senior stakeholders of the firm including Managing Directors and Directors in Sales, Trading, Risk, Compliance and Operations with respect to risks and controls

Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with senior stakeholders of the firm to establish client trading relationships and drive business priorities

Providing creative and pragmatic solutions to progress the negotiations, and providing succinct and clear explanations of the legal issues

What we’re looking for:

Experience with legal contract management or negotiation

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent

Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral communications, and tailor the approach to the audience and the situation

Skills that will help you in the role:
