As a Barclays Senior Product Owner, you will join the recently formed EDP Product Office which owns the roadmap for our cloud products and provides significant input and direction to our scope, designs and plans. You will partner with our Engineering teams and Business Engagement teams to gather thematic requirements, manage the backlog, prioritise and ensure clear outcomes that add value for our users.
Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, established in 1690, with a legacy of success, quality, and innovation. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
What will you be doing?

Working with the Business Engagement and Engineering teams to understand and drive scope, design, planning and overall strategy for cloud deliverables and ensure alignment

Ensuring our roadmap is ambitious but achievable, that all items are well understood, can be easily explained to varied audiences and deliver real value to our users

Producing clear, accurate and appropriate material and artefacts around those Products and Roadmap for audiences ranging from engineering teams to Board level

Leading improvement to our Agile processes, use of tooling to automate roadmaps from JIRA and ensure consistent approach across our product lines

Engaging with engineers to provide input and to represent our products to others

Being ‘hands on’, ready to help unblock challenges, assist with producing user friendly material on complex topics (e.g. product guidance) to help our journey

What we’re looking for:

Technical background (don’t need to be actively or recently coding but demonstrable extensive experience in technology areas)

Excellent attention to detail, proactivity and persistence, much of what we do is identifying issues with scope, design or scheduling that others haven’t

Ability to translate between Engineers and Business and understand / identify business value, need to ensure our roadmap translates very technical items into real meaning

Excellent data and content presentation skills with proven ability to produce excellent content for varied and often senior audiences in ppt, xls, confluence etc

Skills that will help you in the role:

Public Cloud experience, preferably including one or more of AWS, Snowflake, Databricks

Product Management and/or Product Ownership experience

Understanding of Agile Software development methodologies, tools (e.g. JIRA) and governance

Pragmatic, results based approach
