Lab Technician R&D

Would you like to deliver hands-on contribution to the development of new products and applications for our brand Kievit and are you eager to bring the best product experience to our customers?

Within Friesland Campina Professional R&D we are looking for a fulltime lab technician (36h per week) to support us in development of new and optimized products in our Kievit portfolio of fat powders for Coffee and tea and Bakery applications. You will work independently in the lab to support our development and technical sales team by performing analysis and support development of new and optimized products and applications. Your focus is to bring the best product experience to our professional customers.

Ce que nous demandons

• Minimum level BSC Food technology / Food Innovation, 1-2 years work experience in product development in Food industry, preferably B2B;
• A background in bakery, culinary arts, or experience in the creative development of products and applications driven by consumer trends is preferred;
• Expertise in dairy technology (for example spray drying, emulsions, food physics and chemistry);
• You are curious, creative, quality driven and customer focused;
• You are able to work both independently and in a team;
• You have hands-on lab experience;
• Being able to speak English is a must;
• You work in a structured way and you are digital savvy.

In this role, your most important responsibilities will be:

• Deliver support to innovation, product optimization and compliance projects;
• Prepare and execute lab experiments for testing the functionality of our existing and new products in final applications and customer prototypes;
• Perform shelf-life tests and analytical tests (e.g. NMR, Aw, Sensory) and evaluate & report results to stakeholders;

Your stakeholders include, among others, Development Specialists, Technical Sales, Sensory, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Customers, Raw Material Suppliers, and Specification Specialists.

• Prepare samples for customer presentations and exhibitions/fairs, internal demos, photo shoots and product/application trainings;
• Create attractive customer applications together with product developers & TSS, set up demos for customers, deliver customer experience;
• Prepare for internal taste panel sessions;
• Perform competitor research and report data;
• Own the lab table of application lab: Maintain hygiene, safety and tidiness, manage the stock of raw material and maintenance of equipment.

Pedestrian bridges and atriums connect the different parts with each other. The centre also includes an experience centre, an innovation kitchen and a test bakery. Here, Consumers, Customers and Employees of FrieslandCampina from all over the world can experience our tasty products. In order to accelerate and strengthen our innovation process, we also work together with innovation partners such as Wageningen University & Research Centre, other knowledge institutes, our member dairy farmers, customers and suppliers in the Innovation Centre.
