As Multicatmaster, you take the lead on board. You carry the full responsibility for your vessel, your team and your operations. With confidence and clarity, you guide the crew, steer production and ensure safety. Because when your vessel moves, the project moves with it.

The Position

As Multicatmaster, you are responsible for managing all onboard operations from nautical decisions to technical maintenance, from crew leadership to contact with local authorities. Every safe and successful manoeuvre reflects your leadership. Every shift in the water begins with your command.

Your Impact

As Multicatmaster, you take ownership of production output, ensure smooth coordination with project teams, and safeguard our high QHSE standards. Your main tasks will include:

  • Supervise and manage all activities onboard, carrying final responsibility to make optimal production/project output possible in close cooperation with other equipment, company management, and clients (on- and offshore);
  • Guide, supervise, motivate, and train your crew in consultation with operational supervisor(s) and in accordance with the relevant personnel policy, to create and safeguard a positive working atmosphere;
  • Ensure full compliance with safety and environmental regulations onboard as well as the maintenance of the assigned equipment;
  • Oversee (long term) maintenance planning in collaboration with our Fleet department;
  • Act as the main point of contact for local authorities and service agencies.

YOUR WORKPLACE

You work on board of our Multicat, wherever the project is. You will be part of a tight-knit, international team who trust and support each other, at sea and onshore. Together you adapt, solve and deliver under pressure. At Van Oord, we give you the freedom to act and the tools to grow into your next step.

About You

You have a hands-on mentality, stay focused under pressure and bring strong communication and decision-making skills to the team. You know how to lead and get things done, especially in an international and operational environment. You bring:

  • A CoC Unlimited or at least 3000 GT and at least 3 years of relevant experience as Multicatskipper
  • A proven track record in successfully managing multidisciplinary and international teams
  • Completed STCW courses and willingness to follow all recommended Van Oord training
  • Proficiency in the English language at a professional level

We Offer

We offer you a role where you will make a significant contribution to our mission of 'building a better world for future generations'. Additionally, we offer you:

  • Salary based on experience and qualifications;
  • A 5-weeks-on and 5-weeks-off rotation schedule;
  • A 12-hour watch on board;
  • Opportunities for further training and professional development;
  • A dynamic, international work environment.
The vessels are state-of-the-art. You're always working on exciting projects, and on top of that, you're with a stable, reliable employer!
