At Van Oord, we are caring for the growth of a global team dedicated to delivering service excellence across our worldwide operations. We’re looking for enthusiastic, proactive finance professionals who want to contribute to a high-performance organisation and play a meaningful role in our international mission. As a Team Member Order-to-Cash, you’ll be at the financial heartbeat of our worldwide projects. You will be responsible for end-to-end intercompany cost allocation, debtor invoicing, and bank & cash management — all essential to keeping our global operations running smoothly. But your role goes far beyond transactions. You will help us succeed together by strengthening financial processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring reliable service delivery across the globe. Join us and help build the future of our financial excellence at Van Oord.

THE POSITION

The Global Financial Shared Service Center (GFSSC), part of our Finance & Control department, is at the core of our global operations. It provides efficient, consistent, and high-quality accounting and payroll services to all Van Oord Business Units, projects, and staff departments.

Our GFSSC consists of five sub-teams working from Rotterdam and Dubai, each committed to delivering exceptional financial support. As our organisation continues to grow, so does our ambition to elevate and future-proof our shared services.

YOUR IMPACT

As a Team Member Order to Cash you ensure smooth intercompany processes, accurate debtor invoicing and reliable treasury activities. You work closely with project controllers worldwide and act as a trusted partner they can count on. You bring an analytical mindset and a sharp eye for detail, helping to streamline workflows, improve data quality and drive smarter, more efficient processes.

  • Manage intercompany activities including cross charging and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and execute debtor invoices with accuracy and ownership.
  • Process bank transactions and support a range of treasury accounting activities.
  • Handle petty cash transactions and respond to internal and external audit requests.
  • Analyse data, identify process improvements and consistently deliver excellent service.

Everything you do contributes to the success of our projects and reinforces the reliability of our global financial operations.

YOUR WORKPLACE

Based at our head office in Rotterdam, you will enjoy an inspiring workspace with a beautiful view of the Maas and access to an in-house gym to boost your wellbeing.

We embrace hybrid working but encourage office presence to maintain strong collaboration with your team.

You will join a warm, international community of 68 GFSSC colleagues from 13 nationalities. A buddy will support you during your onboarding, making sure you feel at home from day one. As our GFSSC continues to expand and professionalize, your contribution will help build the future of our shared service excellence.

Every day brings something new — and that’s exactly what energizes you.

In this role, you are independent, focused, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment. Administration and process mastery come naturally to you.

ABOUT YOU

You work accurately and adapt easily, supported by strong analytical and problem solving skills. You understand the value of reliable financial data and enjoy improving processes to support better decision making. You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively and take pride in delivering the level of service that internal customers depend on. Your mindset is critical, curious and focused on continuous improvement.

  • Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience with strong knowledge of accounting processes, policies and shared service standards.
  • High level of accuracy, a data and automation driven mindset and experience with ERP systems, preferably IFS.
  • Passion for service excellence and continuous improvement, with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong command of spoken and written English.

WE OFFER

By joining Van Oord, you contribute to our mission of building a better world for future generations. In return, we offer:

  • A competitive salary based on your experience
  • Travel allowance (€0.31/km) and home working allowance (€2.40/day)
