Senior Strategic Negotiator, Open Connect Partner Engagement - EMEA

Netflix is responsible for servicing primetime Internet traffic with many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and continues to experience remarkable growth.

The Open Connect Partner Engagement Team works to ensure the best possible end-user quality of experience through efforts with ISPs to maximize traffic throughput and minimize network congestion in the most efficient manner.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with 15+ years of experience in complex negotiations and relationship management with Internet Service Providers, seeking a new challenge at one of the world's largest Internet content providers.

What you will do:

• Maintain and deepen relationships with ISPs in the EMEA, and represent Netflix's business interests in negotiations.
• Provide regular updates and capacity forecasts to ISP partners on Netflix traffic destined for their users. Suggest potential network optimizations where appropriate.
• Monitor interconnection and OCA utilization to ensure sufficient capacity is available and work with ISPs to augment capacity as needed.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Development, Legal, Government Relations, and Public Relations, representing Open Connect objectives.
• Contribute to relevant industry organizations and events to promote Open Connect and help develop the global interconnection ecosystem.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to align on global strategic objectives and ensure/maintain alignment on the execution of strategies at the regional/local level.
• Conduct data and market research, as well as create collateral, to maintain optimal regional/local strategies.
• Engage in technical discussions within engineering to drive cross-functional initiatives that are technology-oriented and connect them back to ISP partnerships.
• Create collateral materials that can be understood and used by experts and non-experts alike.

Requirements:

• Fluent and effective communication with a wide variety of technical, business, and legal contacts at ISP partners in English.
• Additional language fluency is a plus.
• Extensive experience in executive engagements with ISPs.
• Deep understanding of the Internet ecosystem, both from a technical and business perspective.
• High-level project management skills to ensure the success of partner activities.
• Exceptional familiarity with Internet technology concepts and their use by ISPs, including routing (IGP/BGP), traffic management, and interconnection and data center services.
• Ability to present Netflix Open Connect concepts and activities for audiences of various sizes.
• Ability to analyze and present a variety of data using Google Sheets, scripting, and database queries.
• Ability to produce reports using tools such as MicroStrategy and Tableau for internal and partner use.
• Ability to synthesize multiple disciplines to align with strategic objectives.
• Fluency in the architecture and engineering of content delivery systems.
• Network architecture, design, and engineering experience desired.
• Extensive contract negotiation experience.
• Travel is required within the region and for infrequent global engagements.
