Qualys Engineer – Security, Vulnerability Management

You & Your Job

As a skilled Qualys engineer, specializing in leveraging the Qualys platform to identify vulnerabilities, you play a pivotal role in ensuring systems are secure, resilient and aligned with best practices. Your expertise in vulnerability management contributes to mitigating risks and maintaining robust security.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Qualys Engineer to support the expansion and optimisation of an established Qualys platform within a large-scale enterprise environment. This role will focus on scaling existing Qualys capabilities, enhancing vulnerability management coverage, integrating with enterprise systems, and driving best practices across a complex and distributed infrastructure.

Examples for Practices

• Support the design, deployment, and expansion of the existing Qualys subscription
• Optimise scanning strategies for scale, performance, and coverage
• Configure and maintain scanners (physical, virtual, cloud agents)
• Actively contribute to the vulnerability management process
• Work in a DevOps way (You build it you own it, life cycle management, shift left mindset, etc.)
• Apply operating system hardening best practices and secure configuration standards to strengthen system security, minimize attack surfaces, and support a resilient infrastructure

• Integrate Qualys with enterprise tooling within a highly regulated environment
• Contribute to the vulnerability management process and drive continuous improvement
• Automate workflows using APIs and scripting where applicable

You & Your Talent

• Min. 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Extensive, hands-on experience with Qualys
• Extensive scripting skills (Python, Powershell, Bash/Shell)
• Strong understanding of vulnerability management life cycle
• Solid understanding of networking
• Experience troubleshooting scanning issues in a large, complex network environment
• Experience with Azure data factory
• Professional English communication and ability to work independently with remote teams
• Team player
• You must be located in the Netherlands; re-location is not possible for this role.
